Hi I've never used to this before, and was thinking of doing a tour of america, and just wondered if there are alot of people who go alone on these trips or is more of a place where friends go together.

i was told by contiki that 75% of travellers go alone. i have never been with contiki either but was thinking of going on the western highlights tour in april 2010. is there anyone else that is also planning this trip so far in advance?i'm already so excited yet there is still 10 months to go!

Hey yea im going in 2010, Made my mind up on doing the grand northern tour, I will be travelling alone, Only takes a few hours to get to know and meet some great new friends. makes the tour alot more enjoyable :-)

Just do it. Heaps of ppl on my tour i just did went by themselves. This forum is actually a great tool to start to get to know ppl so by the start of the tour you sort of have a clue of who ppl are

I want to go in 2010,not sure on the tour yet. I am more worried about being alone before & after the tour & as being alone their are the extra costs. Also I want to do Disneyland, but not alone.

i was worried about the same thing i really want to go on the western highlights tour-how ever it leaves from L.A and doesn't actually go to any of the sights there-so i guess i will have to do them on my own!
if your thinking of going in april 2010 let me know as this is when im planning my trip and i will be looking for a travel buddy so that i can go to disney etc!

I'm thinking of doing the wild western tour in feb 2010. I'll be going alone also, but from what i hear so do many others.
I'm sure you will make great friends on your tour and shouldn't worry to much about being on your own. However, like many others i am a little apprehensive before and after the tour traveling alone, i want to do disneyland and universal studios and most likely will leave this for after the tour as i hope others i meet will want to join me (if not bugger it, i'll go on my own - always wanted to go to disneyland)

well the dates have been released for late 2010 now for USA!!! and im going alone.. im thinking on doing the Best of USA sept 11 2010!!!
first time overseas alone.. so its very freaky but i think it will be great!! anyone else looking at going around sept next year??

I'm traveling alone myself next year, did one with a mate last year however going alone this year.

On the tour I did, there were a lot of people who travelled alone and then they allocate 2 people (same sex of course) to a room. I personally am paying the supplement for a single room but you meet so many people on the tour, you make lots of friends very quickly!

Hi there, I leave in 3 weeks for the Northern Escape and am going alone. Little bit nervous but am too excited to worry about going by myself. Im sure I will meet so many amazing people so am excited.
