Hey guys, I'm looking at doing one of these 2 next year around july, august or september and would like to hear from anyone who has done one or both of these. What were your thoughts, good and bad. Hearing from a tour manager or bus driver would be great. Oh, and I like drinking. Preferably every night, weather its out in a big city or in hotel rooms or cabins... it always makes the night that much more exciting, and I can sleep when I get home! Thanks in advance.

Hey there,

I've recently got back from doing both these tours back-to-back. Both were awesome and I would recommend doing them together, you great a fantastic overview of the states. The only overlap was vegas and the grand canyon, who wouldn't want to spend extra time in vegas and the grand canyon you get to go to both sides - different side on each trip.

By doing the tours together you save another airfare and there were some savings by booking 2 tours and booking early.
It is a long time, but I have done previous long trips so it wasn't an issue. So many great people and we kept the same driver the entire time. Someone else did the 2 tours together as well. I wouldn't bother with the NY explorer tour as you go around NY with your new mates!

Nightlife was much bigger on the southern, however the beginning of the northern was pretty big too, but did get a little quieter towards the end.

Hope you get to go and have the brilliant time I did!
Katie

Good to hear you had an awesome time Katie! I'm doing the Grand Northern and Grand Southern next year, but I'm doing the Grand Northern first and then the Grand Southern, because I wanted to spend more time in New York than just 3 days. Smiler
