I am booked on the North by North East Contiki leaving NY on 3rd August 07. I believe they are joined. I arrive in NY from Australia on 1 August, and I have 2 night booked at Hotel Beacon B4 the tour starts. I was also hoping to meet up with some people and see some of NY.

Ive just booked this tour today. Im travelling solo and will be arriving in Newark New York on Aug 1st around lunchtime. It's my second Contiki tour as i did the Aussie Exp last summer but its the first time ive travelled solo. It would be great if anyone wanted to get together before the trip started to explore New York.

I have also booked this tour and I can't wait until August!!

I am 28, form Sydney and I love to travel. I have been on the Mediterranean Highlights tour 2 years ago and I just loved it. This time round I am travelling solo and I am looking forward to the adventure.

I have been thinking about also doing the Big Apple Explorer (31July-3Aug) but I am undecided at this stage. New York seems like a huge place and exploring by myself seems a bit daunting. Anyone else thinking about doing the Big Apple Exporer?

Hey Sylvia!

I was originally thinking about doing the Big Apple Explorer but on reflection I found it better to take the maximum extra days we can have before the GN at the Hotel Beacon than book on the BAE. That gives us 4 nights at the Hotel and so 3 ½ days to explore. This was a better option I found not least because the BAE ends the day of the tour and you will miss the last day anyway. It also worked out cheaper this way for me.

Also having had many friends from my last tour do a New York stopover they all said it is quite easy to navigate New York yourself, but remember you wont be alone, many of us arrive early too and we can all hang out together and see the sights, I am sure we all want to see the same things.
