I'm planning to go on the grand northern and grand southern around june/july 2010. No dates set as yet. I'll be travelling myself and first time out of Australia.. Bit nervous but excited. Anyone else planning to travel around the same time??

I am planning on doing the Grand Northern around July-ish next year. I am going to Europe as well before that, so I just need to wait for all the Europe tour dates to come out before I plan exactly what dates I am going. Which one are you planning on doing first? I did the Grand Southern in January '08, and it was amazing, best thing I have ever done. Cant wait to go back!!

Thanks for the reply.. I'm not too sure on which tour I'll do first. I was really just planning to go on the Grand Northern but thought since I'm going over there I might as well go on the Grand Southern as well! I can't wait to go over

Hi there, I'm looking at doing part of the grand northern in July '10 as a solo traveller. Still to work out dates though. I just got back from doing the grand southern and had a fantastic time...you'll luv it. Don't stress too much bout doing it by yourself cos a lot of ppl go by themselves and after the 1st day you're all good mates

hey all! Im planning on the 9th of july 2010 north by north east, did the Grand southern last year and the places you visit are amazing! So many travel alone, dont stress at all, most of my bus were solo travellers or couples that happily mingled!

Hi... I am currently saving like mad to go on my Grand Southern Tour!

I think I am setting off on the september 2010 tour as the flights from england to the usa half at that time of year!!

I am also going solo... but I think that will be the best thing about it! Just a chance to meet new people and things!

Just a quick question for those who have done the tour before.. should I get a fake UK ID as i will be under 21 when traveling? xx

Ok so I've decided that I'm going to do the Grand Southern departing April 29, and the Grand Northern departing May 28. I'm going to go and book them at the travel agent next week... so exciting!!!

And Charlotte, pretty sure you need your passport as ID to get into clubs and bars, etc.

Hi everyone! I've finally booked my trip! I'm starting off on the Grand Northern on 30 April and then onto the Grand Southern (LA to NY) 27th May.. Anyone else going on these dates in 2010??

Funny that Nikki. Glad I didn't rush in and book my tours because I've had a bit of a think about what I want to do before/after the tours and realised that I dont think the 3 days I'd have between the GS and GN is enough to see and do everything that I want in New York City. I've decided that the only way I can spend enough time in NYC is to start off with the GN, and then do the GS.

So I'm going to be doing the same tour dates as you. I'm going to book them on wednesday!

hi just reading this forum in regards to charlott i was in the usa earlier this year on contiki tour and you needed your passport to get yourself into every club or pub to show your ID. hope i have helped

I'm heading on the Grand Northern on 30 April as well, looking forward to it.

I'll be doing a week in New York beforehand, seeing all the sites I missed out on seeing the last time I was there.

I'm thinking of doing the Grand Southern on 29th April 2010... Anyone else doing that one..?

I'm planning on going on the Grand Northern, end of 2010, after school. But I will be traveling alone, and am veeery nervous. Is anyone else taking that trip?
