I'm planning on booking into this tour as soon as I can figure out which flights to book, just wondering if anyone else is going on this one? I'm also thinking of doing the New York Explorer before this one and joining the 2 together. I'd like to hear from anyone doing either of these tours. Thanks

Hey! Im thinking of doing the North by North East (the first half of the Grand Northern) start on May 28...

Hey! That one ends in Chicago right? I did look at that one but I thought if I'm guna do it might as well do it properly and go all the way to LA.

Yeh i did the grand southern a few months back and took 8 wks off work so the most i could manage in may was 3 wks. im doing about 5 days at the start in NY. I thought id stop in chicago as at the end the grand northern doubled up on vegas/la/grand canyon and ive already done all that on the southern so, wasnt much point in me doing it again.
Arghhh cant wait!

I'm still trying to get the time off work.. wish they would hurry up I want to book it! I'm going to do the New York Explorer at the beginning since it's my first time travelling on my own, I think I'd panic too much if I had a few days in NY to fill on my own! I have a friend who lives near Chicago so it would have been better to spend a few days extra there but I want to do the whole thing NY to LA so we'll just have to make do with what we've got!

Hi, I'm determined I'm going to do it but my manager is absolutely useless and keeps forgetting to ask about me having the time off, for some reason it need to be authorised by someone higher up. If he doesn't hurry up I'm going to book it and stuff him! This going to be your first one? It'd be mine and would be nice to know someone!

I am doing the Grand Northern in May next year also! I will be travelling alone, plus its my first time overseas so very excited! I will be in NY for 2 days before the tour but havent booked anything yet.

I think most people are travelling alone its just the first bit where you're on your own in a strange country thats guna be the worst I think! But I'm sure we will be fine! I'm doing the NY tour too so I will be around for about 5 days before the GN starts, so excited can't wait to go book it!

I'm thinking of doing this tour with a mate of mine and we're really excited about it! This will be my second Contiki as I just did one this year around Europe.

For those doing this for the first time, DO NOT FEAR! You will seriously have the time of your life. I did it by myself and I was nervous and all, but I had such a good time and made a lot of friends.
