Hi! I'm Samantha, I've booked this tour with a friend and I'd love to talk to people who will be taking this tour with us, or even get some tips and feedback from others who took this tour!

Hiya,

I'm Teresa and I am booking this tour as well. I think it leaves on September 13th? Anyways, I am very excited, but nervous too as I am going Solo.

Where are you from and where else have you travelled?

I'm from Toronto Canada... I haven't really done much travelling as of yet, though this trip in particular is only one of the trips I will be taking around this time. I'm going to a few of different countries.

I've been to Quebec, New York, Cape Cod, and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic... I want to travel outside the Americas for once lol

How about yourself?

I'm from Canada too! Edmonton, Alberta is where I'm originally from, but I now live in Leeds, England.

I've done quite a bit of traveling, but there is so much more I want to see.

What are you doing in Canada? And where else are you going in Europe?

Hi Teresa,

I've done a fair amount of travelling (I did a few europe tours with my parents when I was in highschool)

I've been busy looking at all the things I want to do in Rome on our final day there! So many options!

Have you started thinking about booking tickets in advance for the florence museums or anything like that?

Hi Kathy, Theresa and Samantha,

I'm also booked for the Sept 12th tour. I'm Jen, 28, from Edmonton, Alberta. Definitely excited about this trip too! I have always wanted to see Italy. I'm staying 10 days after on my own to see more of florence, venice and rome.

I'm travelling solo so it should be an adventure. Looking forward to meeting you on the tour!

Jen

Hi Kathy and Jen!

It's awesome to meet you both!

And Teresa, just to answer your question from before, my friend and I also travelling to Poland, England, France, all before Italy, and then after I'm heading to Greece, a bit of Turkey and Germany...

I also seem to be the baby out of this group :P ... I'm only 22 fresh out of uni and not too seasoned when it comes to travelling abroad do any of you ladies have any tips?

Hey Girls! This is fantastic to be able to talk a bit prior to getting on the tour!

Sammie --> my suggestion to you is to get a money belt or something that will keep your valuables close to your body as pick pocketing is something you'll need to be concerned about in Italy.

I'm so jealous that you guys are all able to stay on after/before the tour. I unfortunately have to get back to my job and bills after the tour. I wish I had some more time to spend in Rome after the fact. I'm trying to plan out the last day there, there's so much I want to see and so little time!

Are you guys planning to pre buy any tickets for the museums in florence? I'm debating a ticket to the vatican, but I think I'll spend the last day in Rome around the ruins, etc.

Do you guys all have facebook? I know some other groups have created groups there. Might be easier to keep in contact?

Thanks for the tip Kathy Smiler

I guess it would be a good idea to buy tickets before hand... I still have to plan out the exact sequence of events of what my friend and I want to see and do... and the problem is I want to see ... everything lol!

And I also made a facebook group as suggested.
It's titled: Contiki Tours: Simply Italy Sept 12-24 2009

Hi Ladies and nice to meet you!

Kathy - Yes I'm definitely pre booking for the museums. I've booked the Accademia to see David through my hotel for after the tour...I wonder if we should coordinate a time? Last I checked on the websites it was to early to purchase. Do you know if we can buy them now? The uffizi and accademia in Florence have to be booked ahead, and there's one in Milan I think too...what are you thinking?

Hey Jen!
I'm thinking about booking to see David in Florence, but I'm still on the fence. I'm pretty sure that the times are up to book now. The other one I was thinking about was tickets for Vatican city. But those aren't up yet for Sept. I'm on the fence about that one too.

I've only got the last day on the tour for time in Rome, so I've gotta pack everything I want to see in that one day.

I'm not doing Milan -- I don't really care to see the last supper.
