I'm a 25 y/o girl from NYC going on the Aug. 5-17 Simply Italy trip alone, and am planning on staying until Aug. 19. If you're going on the trip also email me or reply to this post and let me know who you are! -Valerie
I'm not 100% positive, but I might be joining you on this Simply Italy trip. I'm 25, I'd either be going alone or a friend might be comming as well. Don't worry about travelling alone, I did a contiki trip two years ago alone and met lots of ppl on the trip and had a great time!
Tania- Since we have to book our own entry to e.g. the Uffizi in Florence and the Vatican, would you want to do that together and book it in advance before we leave, so that at least we can not have to do that alone? Let me know what you'd be interested in doing!

PS: Dayve: Sounds like you are on a different one... perhaps we'll cross paths somewhere in Italy though! Have fun!
My name is Amanda and I'm considering going on this trip.. I'm just torn between this one and another contiki trip! I'm from Toronto Ontario. I would also be travelling alone and have a few hesitations!
amanda- I totally think u should come on this trip! since we r both traveling we can stick together... I have a lot of friends that have don contiki alone and said it was amazing and everyone is really friendly. we can even preschedule e.g. entrance to the uffizi in florence together so we will be "alone" less. let me know what u decide!
Amanda: I did a Contiki trip to Greece by myself two years ago and had a fabulous time and never once felt 'alone'! It was a great group of ppl, met ppl to hang out w quickly, and more often than not, most of the group did the social things together anyways! (ex: nightclubs in the evenings). I've never been to Italy... this will be a first for me... but I had a great solo-traveller experience w Contiki, so I think if you have the time and money, pick a trip and go for it!
Valerie: I'm so confused lol. I thought everything was already booked for us? Do we have to book our own entries for all the places we go to? Ah! Pls let me know the details! And I'll talk w my friend Jess who's comming too, booking together sounds like a good idea! =)
hey! they booked MOST things for us, but i guess in the interests of letting us do what we want, some days have time open. the info is in a packet they sent us (unfortunately its in manhattan and i'm at my parents' on Long Island until monday), but the florence day includes the Duomo and Snata Croce, and a leather demonstration but not the Uffizi. And I think there are some other things that are must-dos and they let us do it if we want to. also not included is the sistine chapel i think but i dont know if there's time for that w the other things they're taking us to in the vatican, so we may want to wait in line for that one. i am actually staying in rome until the afternoon of Tues. the 19th if anyone wants to stay w. me i'm staying at the Hotel Homs near the Spanish Steps. I can let you know for sure on Monday what we'd need to book admission to ahead of time, but let me know what you're interests are! (im a huge art person!)
hey! Ok, this is good to know!! That would be great if you could let me know the info when you get it. I'd be interested in seeing the sistine chapel! Italy is a great place for you to go, as an art lover! I'm very excited for the trip, but you must be twice as excited as me! =)
Hey- ok so in order to see the David at the Uffizi in Florencem we have to book entry between 1 and 3:30 p.m on Day 6, the full day in Florence. I'd say we should do later rather than earlier, like around 3. If you want I can get the tickets for the 3 of us.
Also, to see da Vinci's Last Supper in Milan we'd have to pre-book entry between 1:30 and 4 on the "La Spezia to Milan" day.
Let me know what you want to do, preferably sooner rather than later b/c my mom said sometimes they take a couple of days to send you the ticket online.
