How come nobody responds to my postings?? Maybe my trip is too far and no one is booked on it yet?

That is possible ... your tour is still about 2 months away and my tour at that time (which I've just come home from) only had 4 people signed up so far ... you'll probably see more action & responses as it gets closer, especially with last minute deals & people making snap decisions. One girl on my tour signed up with 5-6 days to go.

Yeah you are probably right. Hopefully more sign up!

How was your trip? Any suggestions on things we absolutely MUST do/see?

Well everyone has different tastes - so while some people love museums others like sites like castles & monuments. However I would definitely recommend the Vatican Museum (which you seem to be doing). Plan to spend at least 2 hours ... more if you have it ... it will take at least 30-45min just to walk through it.

I'd say that St. Peters Basilica is a must as well ... and make sure to have your camera fully charged (as mine wasnt by that point so I had to be pretty economical about taking photos).

I was really happy to have seen the David in Florence (Accademia), but wish I'd had more time. I think that is something everyone needs to prepare for going in - realize that even with free time you're still going to have less time than you might want in many of these places.

I think the Rialto Bridge in Venice is a must see as well - the bridge in Florence over the Arno is pretty good - but there really is nothing like the Rialto.

I also liked Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice, right near the wooden Accademia bridge.

Whatever you choose to see - make sure you see your highest priorities first.

Oh and yes I had a great time on my tour - I'll be posting a tour review sometime soon when I get a chance (European Spirit 09 09 09).
