Hi Everyone,

I am considering doing Simply Italy at the beginning of end of Sept, early Oct. Will anyone else be taking this tour with me?
I have a few questions and would appriciate any feed back.
I will be going solo and am a little nervous, but at least I will be with a group and hopefully I will meet some new friends Smiler
Should I opt for getting my own room or requesting to share? Should I stay in the hotels offered by Contiki or are there others that are recommended?
Do a lot of people stay on the planned itinerary or do a lot of people end up going off on their own?
What kind of clothing should I pack besides casual, walking gear? Are heels recomended?
I look forward to any advice you might have.

Hello DeeZee,

I'm also going on this tour but in August. This is my second Contiki tour and I'm so looking forward to it.

As for you travelling alone, don't worry. You will have the time of your life. Last year I did the spanish spree and I was travelling alone and had a blast. I meet amazing people...believe it or not I'm still in contact with them and planning a Contiki Reunion next summer.

I also was a little worried about the person I would have ended up with in my room...but it all turned out great. What I suggest for you to do, is to set the record straight as for the rules of the room. If on the long run you get annoyed by this person, just get your own room them.

As for what to pack...that all depend what type of person you are. I suggest you try to travel light because you will be on the go all the time...keep in mind that every 2 days you will be in a different hotel, therefore, carrying in and out of bus and hotel your lugguage.

Italy's weather is still pretty warm in September, so don't bring too much heavy clothes. Keep in mind that in churches you are not alllowed to walk in tank tops and shorts....so dress accordingly!! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE COMFOTABLE SHOES SINCE LOTS OF WALKING WILL BE DONE.

People do follow the itinarary but you do have lots of time on your own. Don't worry...you will have an amazing time. I leave in 2 weeks and I can't wait!

I hope that I have been helpful!

Gina
