Hey,

I actually didn't book the trip yet because I can't find someone to go with me, and I haven't decided yet if I want to travel alone. Have you gone on many contiki tours?

p.s. I'm the same person as Explorer, I just didn't know how to make a nickname when I started that post. lol

This would be my first time as well. I'm 25. Do you travel a lot? I haven't traveled much before, so that's why I'm so nervous, haha.

I've traveled quite a bit but it's always with family or school. I guess you're never completely alone on a tour though so it should be fine hopefully..

Hi there, I'm possibly looking into booking this trip myself and if I do, I'll be travelling alone too. This will be my first Contiki tour. I'm a little nervous. By the way my name is Maria, I'm 34, from Canada.

Where in Canada are you from Julie? What about you Skittles?

I'm from the U.S. and I am still deciding whether or not to book. Maria, have you travelled a lot before?

Hi Jules,

I don't know if this got posted twice I tried posting the first time and the post did not show up..anyways???

I'm from Quebec and the weather is finally starting to look up here to (LOL)!! By the way I was reading through the contiki site and they mention that once you book they send you a package? Did you get that yet...Do the hotels look decent? Any bad reviews?

------------------------------------------

Hi Skittles, I've done some traveling (not much) but only by land (with friends and family). If I decide to do this it will be my very first time ALONE on a plane!! It's kind of scary yet exciting!! But as I mentionned I'm still not 100% decided. On the other hand the more I think about it, if I don't do this now with a tour when will I ever do it? This is the only way you won't be alone. Don't you think?

Sorry, I don't mean to bable but I understand what you're saying because I'm kind of in the same dilema.

I haven't done too much traveling. Mostly by land to places within 2 or 3 hours, but I have been on a plane a few times. Most recently, I flew to California and Greece. Aside from those 2 trips, I think I flew to Florida about 3 or 4 times, and that is my life's travel history, haha. I've ALWAYS been with family and friends as well. I have never gone anywhere alone. So I am very nervous about going to Italy alone, but I have been trying to go to Italy for years now and it's so fustrating to have to keep putting the trip off to wait for someone else to go. My boyfriend keeps saying next year, and we are going on 4 years of him saying that.

"It's kind of scary yet exciting!! But as I mentionned I'm still not 100% decided. On the other hand the more I think about it, if I don't do this now with a tour when will I ever do it?"

What you say here, is exactly how I feel. If I don't make this happen for myself, when will it ever happen?

But I am terrified at the same time, like you said, which is why I haven't booked yet.

My name is Lisa, btw.

Hey guys! I am also thinking about going on this tour!! and i will be going solo!! I too am a bit nervous, but think it will be such an awesome experiance!!

It says on the info. page that there is a 685$ single fee. would anyone want to room with me to avoid these charges? or is there any one who already booked as a single who knows more about that fee.

Let me know, Amanda!

I could be wrong, but I thought that fee was only if you chose to have a single room. If you tell them when you book that you want to share a room, they will pair you with another solo traveler and you won't have to pay the fee.

Hey Maria, I didn't get the package yet either.. but I remember reading somewhere that they're supposed to send it to you about 45 days before the trip..? So hopefully soon! And about the hotels, I've been browsing through just random reviews from around the site (and not just the simply italy ones) and no one seems really impressed with the hotels. Apparently sometimes they change them on you at the very last minute sometimes so you end up way further out of the city than expected?? haha and there were a few bad shower stories... but i can't say that I'd mind too much. Hopefully we don't spend a lot of time in the hotel anyway! Smiler

Only a little more than a month to go huh? Exciting stuff...!
