Wow I cannot believe we will all be in Italia on the weekend!!!

I'm just a bit concerned about something, maybe some of you could put my mind at ease...
After we finish @ the Roma Park Hotel on 23 Oct, I will be staying there for 3 more nights. However, after doing some reading up of the hotel I am kinda worried about the reviews I've read: such as the poor location and the poor service etc. Is anyone going to be staying at the Roma Park after the tour or will you be going to another hotel? The thing is my TA has already booked the hotel for me

Hi Marcelle,
Yeah, I was worried about the hotel at the end too. Although my itinerary says we'll be staying at the Palladium the 21st and 22nd. Maybe your TA could double-check with Contiki. I might have mine do that, because I'd rather not stay at the Roma Park at all. Smiler My sister and I are staying extra, but we booked a B&B in Trastavere. Maybe if it is the Roma Park you can undo your extra nights and book somewhere else?

Hello Marcelle-
I can't believe Italy just a few days away. This time next week we will all be in Florence..WOW!

Per our TA, we will be starting and ending at Hotel Palladium Palace Rome. I agree with Erin, check with your TA and make any reservation concerns you have.

See you all in a few days!!! Travel safe everyone!

So I can't believe that Italy is just around the corner. I too am slightly concerned about the ending accomodation. I was informed by Contiki that the hotel was the Giglio dell'Opera. I'm waiting to hear back from them in regards to the 'actual' hotel.

How is it that there's 3 different hotel names between the 4 of us??? Should we all compare hotel names for the whole trip?

LOL!! I don't have my documents with me here at work, but from memory we have the Palladium at the beginning in Rome, Holiday Express for Milan and Venice, Hotel Firenze for La Spezia, Giosue a Mare in Sorrento...do any of those look familiar?

Thanks guys for the comments, and yes Erin I am in the process of transferring to another hotel.

But what gets me is that we have various names for the end of the tour!!! hahaha what fun! Let's leave it to chance....OR NOT! lol. Although I must admit, on my hotel vouchers it does seem to state Roma Park as the last hotel on the night of 22 Oct...and the Palladium as the 1st...to use South African slang..."Eish!!"

So I spoke with "Kari" at Contiki this morning and the ending hotel is indeed Giglio dell'Opera. If anyone else wants to call the number is 1-866-224-0267. I just gave them my booking number (starts with "A") and they then confirmed my booking. Perhaps we aren't all together on the last night? I guess I should have checked...sorry.
See you all soon...

this is weird. I had the same info as Jaimie, which I confirmed through the U.S. Contiki office. Then when I called the 866 number, which I guess is the Canadian office, they said it's the Giglio. I was told the group should all be staying in the same hotel, but there's contracts and validating, etc., etc. The short story is no one seems to know for sure. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Smiler

Wow talk about some messed up information. I just spoke to my TA who called Sandy at Contiki and according to Sandy we will be at the Hotel Palladium Palace at the beginning and end of the tour.

If anyone is willing to offer me their last names, my TA will check with Contiki to find the confusion????

On to another topic.....

Who's packed? I'm not, lol. I have no idea what to bring. Even though people have mentioned a few things, it's not that easy, at least I don't think it's that easy.

LOL!! Packed? Definately not yet. I have no idea what to bring either...I think I'll just pack a few outfits for warmer weather and then if I end up getting cold, go shopping?

Yeah, I'm not packed either. I leave Friday and will probably wait to pack until tomorrow night. The shopping sounds like a good plan, though!
