We will all be meeting up at the Palladium in Rome but that's as much as I know, other than the tour ends at Hotel Giglio.

I'm also on this tour and can't wait!! It seems like a good mix of nationalities - and I'm happy to be the first australian representative (according to this thread!).

This will be my first overseas trip. I actually get in to Naples on the 5th Oct, but will lazily make my way up to rome for the 11th plenty of capuccinos and scenery along the way.

To answer your question, Khalid, we're getting there early booked an extra night through Contiki at the Hotel Palladium. So I'm assuming that's the hotel we start off at. Hope that helps!

Erin(Dean) & Khalid - From what I have read, my hubby has everyone beat on the age thing...2 weeks before the tour he will turn....wait for it....36 and I'll be 31! We are very happy that Contiki allowed us to book with them so we could have some fun with people around our age.

that's a good question actually - i should at least, make an attempt to budget. do you have any ideas of what money to allow for each day?

What i'm going to do tomorrow is try and do some research and work out a per day budget and let you know what I cam up with and you can use it as a ballpark figure or something.....

Sounds great what's the exchange rate for you? the australian dollar has been appreciating against the US of late... but $1 AUS is still worth only 0.6 EURO. Hating it!

When you you get over to italy? as I said previously i think, i get into Naples on the 5/6th, so i've got a bit of time to make my way to rome.

actually after we finish on the 23rd I've been thinking of hiring a motorbike and travelling back to some of the places we visited. just an idea though at this stage - i don't want to plan too much!

Firstly, in South Africa 1 RAND= Aprox 12 Euros...HECTIC HUH.

I arrive in Rome 11 Oct and leave 27 Oct...Like you i plan to enjoy the sights a bit longer before returning to reality
