I leave rome the day after you and i have no idea how im going to fit everything i wanna see into that short amount of time either but ay it gives us a reason to go back again. I was planning on ringing Contiki to check about the final hotel - I don't want to have to lug my bags too far to get to my other accommodation - but hoping it'll be the same as the first one.
I've booked my tickets: Uffizi at 1:30, Accademia at 3! Anyone else who wants to come along, it'd be great to have you.
And since there are a few of us here, how about a quick introduction so we're not complete strangers on the actual tour? Tell us something about yourselves!
My name's Lexie - obviously - and I'm a full time third year Law/Arts student in Adelaide, South Australia, and a part time waitress/penguin wrangler. My favourite movies are 'Blade Runner' and 'Withnail & I', you might have seen me on telly a few years ago when I auditioned for Australian Idol, I have a dog called Fish, and I don't speak any Italian - well, except 'pizza' - but I've always wanted to go to Rome. I'd really rather go to Italy in the summer so I could go swimming - I love the beach - but I'm looking forward to this trip all the same.

Hi Lexie! Good to see another "solo" traveller! I'm going to try to book the 1:30 and 3:00 tour... sounds interesting... Also with the optional excursions...i think i'm with Josh.. they all sound really good except the meals seem a little much. Super stoked about the gondola ride though! Does anyone know if you can pre-buy these, or not? Also, is anyone else a little "concerned" about the baggage restrictions? How am i supposed to shop... there won't be room to bring anything home??!! LOL.. Oh and to answer your question... my name is Lucy- i live in a small northern city (well i use the term city loosely) in British Columbia Canada. I work as a chartered accountant... and do not conform to the boring stereotypes! I'm finally taking this trip for my birthday... otherwise i would want to see Italy in the summer too! Anyways less than three weeks to go....

Hi Lexie, Could you please do me a favour and post the site which you book the Accademia tickets on? I've been at the Australian Open for the last few days so I'm very much out of things. Can you also post the date (again, that's being lazy from a long trip home from Melbourne). Awesome, thanks. Louisa

Hi everyone,
My name is Christine and i'm going on the tour by myself as well. I'm glad that i'm not the only single going! I thought I was going to be the only one. It's less then a week away and i'm exicted!!! I'm from the the United States (New York)I haven't booked any optional tours yet but since reading your postings I may book some now! I will be getting to rome on the 7th and leaving on the 20th to take a couple days to explore before and after the tour. I look foward to meeting everyone.

Hey guys, Lexie and Josh I was just looking at the tours and I found tickets for the last supper at www.florenceart.it They seem to have them available for the times that they suggest we go. I'm going to book for 14:00 if anyone wants to go...

That's great about the Last Supper! I'll try to book a ticket for the same time.
Oh, and just in case anyone was still wondering; Contiki still can't tell me what hotel we'll be finishing up in. Bit of a pain when it's less than a week to go, but I guess that'll be part of the adventure, eh?
