Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone else will be crashing this tour? Considering I couldn't find a discussion post for our tour I thought I'd start one. Coming from an Aussie Summer with 40 degree heat, it's going to be interesting for me going into Winter, then coming back to Summer again.

Unfortunately I'm not spending any extra time in Rome seeing as the day after I get back home my cousin is having her wedding, so I'm not really allowed to miss that, then the following day I head back to uni. I'm from Yenda, which is near Griffith, in NSW. It's about 6 hours west from Sydney, if I remember correctly. How bout you Josh?
I fly out on the 7th Feb for Rome. It mean I arrive on the 8th. Same for you or planning to go abit earlier?

Yeah, I'm going on my own too, which is scary but adds to the excitement I think. The only other time I've been overseas was with my parents to NZ, so for us that really isn't properly overseas. It's so close now, and it's going to be awesome.

I'm so glad to hear that other people are going solo. I had this horrible thought that I would be the only un-partnered person on the tour.

Ciao!

I'm another Aussie going solo on this tour, and spending a few extra days in Rome afterward. My booking was very last minute - some other travel plans fell through - but I got all my documents and itinerary today and it looks like it's going to be fab!

Just some questions; are any of you planning on booking tickets for the Uffizi and Accademia in Florence, or the Last Supper in Milan? And if so, what time and would you mind me tagging along with you? I don't mind going by myself, but it would be more fun to share the experience with other people. Oh, and any thoughts on the optional extras? I think I'm going to give the meals a miss; way too expensive for a poor uni student who's used to living on instant Mi Goreng!

Can't wait to meet you all!

Oh, shame about the Last Supper! I blame misguided Dan Brown fans! Still, looks as if there are places available for the Uffizi and Accademia. I'm thinking 1:30 and 3:00; should be enough time to see the main attractions and have a wander around in between getting from one to the other, but I'm open to suggestions. I'll probably book tickets asap sometime over the weekend, seeing as they're in high demand.

I'm leaving Rome on the 22nd, and staying until then at the Hotel Giuliana - which is probably not far from your hotel, Josh! I probably still won't have time to see everything I want to in Rome, but I'm really looking forward - in a morbid sort of way - to seeing the catacombs along the Appian Way.
