Hi there,

Shez- hope your hand gets better!!!

I saw my travel agent and she said the docs haven't arrived yet but she will be chasing them up Smiler
Hope it arrives soon, I'm leaving in 28 days... still have so much to do!!

I have booked in to the Emmaus Hotel
in rome for the 11th, then i leave the day after.

If there are group bookings available, I'm up for that, at least then we could see things together.

Anyway ladies, hope everyone has a good weekend, can't wait to meet everyone!

Anne-Marie Smiler

arent i the one with all the info hey :P

ok, so in rome it has us staying at the hotel palladium palace on via gioberti 36 00185, in milan we're staying at the holiday inn express bicocca on via della guisstizia 10 20125. hope that helps!

and shawna, the broken hand comes from a rough game of hockey.. haha. im really having to learn patience cause everything takes SO long now! but on to the interesting stuff... it doesn't tell us what time we leave.. in regards to milan all it says is we reach our afternoon stop in verona.. so from experience my guess is that we may get the morning (perhaps at best the better part of the day) in milan, a brief stop in verona to stop in venice for the night. I do think our day of travel from La Spezia to Milan would be our best bet, otherwise it would probably be dead early the following day but no guarantees on when we leave there hey. how early could we get in on the 7th?? And the uffizi museum is in florence.

By the way, I'd be up for any of these... if its a go ahead just let me know.. want to see all that i can of everywhere! Shawna, let me know how it goes with the accomm. im yet to ask my travel agent about it..

Hey Shez ... Playin hockey eh? Not a bad way to have a break Wink, lol being Canadian I had to. I know how difficult things are when you only have one hand, it still really really sucks!

So, with the uffizi gallary and David are in Florence and Contiki suggesting to do this on our full day in Rome ... does anyone know how long the trip would be either by bus or train between Rome and Florence?

Forgot to post this with the last one ... its early on a Monday (can tell its going to be a grrrreat day).

It sounds like we have the perfect situation for extra days. 2 of us are only staying for the 11th and 2 of us are stay the 11 & 12. This lead to a few best solutions as I see it. 1)Both Anne and I keep our reservations at seperate hotels and you each stay with one of us and then get a booking for the 2 of you on the 12th ......... OR ............... 2) We all decide which hotel we would like to stay at, and either Anne or I cancel our reservations so there is one reservation for the 11th and then one reservation is made for the 11th and 12th at the same hotel. So I think we need to take a vote ...what does everyone want to do?

Sorry ... I have one more question. Does everyone want to see both David and the Uffizi Gallery or just one? Keep in mind that the David is in a different gallery, the accademia gallery, which has cool art work too. check out the websites: www.firenzemusei.it or www.polomuseale.firenze.it

Ladies...
Our trip sure is coming fast and I have to tell you... all this chatting on here has 1) made me A LOT more comfortable about travelling alone and 2) has been keeping the excitement building... it's really happening ladies!

Shawna- either option 1 or 2 of the accomodations would work with me. Just as long as I have somewhere to stay. Let me know what you guys decide about the accomodations.

Shez- Looks like it is me and you without places to stay for the 11th and 12th... would you like to organize our own place to stay or else do you want to work it out when we get there?
As for David and the Uffizi Gallery... I would love to see both if we can fit it in but I think if only 1 can work it would be David for me... what do the rest of you think?
I am super confused as to which days to book the admission for, etc. Can someone please help me out?
Cheers,
Breanne

Hey Bre,

You know ... I am confused too, so don't feel alone in that. This is why they should send out the travel documents earlier. Shez - are we supposed to try and book in to see David on our full in Florence or our full day in Rome?

There is also the option that we all book into a hostel. They are cheaper and I have looked up 5 of them all within a 10ish minute walk from our hotel in Rome with Contiki.

Hey Shez,

I have a question for you, where are we staying in Sorrento?

Also, I've already booked my accomodation, and just checked about cancelling, but they don't give refunds Frowner

Yeah another CanadianSmiler Let me be the first to welcome you to our wonderful group. Where abouts are you from? You doing any other travelling this summer?

I have an update on changing hotel stuff. I spoke with my travel agent today and although I can not change the reservation from a single to a double occupancy I can cancel the reservation for a very minor fee, which I have no quams about paying. So, we just need to figure out ... do we keep both the reservations and just split up OR I can cancel mine and we can all head over towards Anne's hotel to find rooms OR if anyone else has any suggestions lets through them out there.

Hey no way! I was born in Edmonton and moved to Vancouver when I was 10 (a long time ago).

Wow sounds like it is going to be a fun and busy summer for you as well. After an extra night in Rome, I am off to Athens, first 2 nights on my own and then I am doing the Greek Island Hopping Tour.

It is all soooo exciting Smiler
