tipping is not that bad when you are over their, iv been to the states a few times and its only ever a doller here and there! Help with bags, taxis, good service at dinner, etc. just make sure you have got one doller bills in your pocket ready. I got my travel pack too yesterday. Must admit I'm a bit worried about the tipping thing too - they take it very seriously from what I've heard, which is understandable, but at the same time, not doing it here, I'll have to make sure I remember.
I'm definitely going to have to go out and buy a warm jacket and a decent pair of shoes. Uh, so much to do!
Is anyone thinking of doing Disneyland after the trip ends?

I have heard that tipping in bars is a must so that they keep coming back to serve you, rather then having to wait a long time for service. So that's one thing I won't forget to do!

I am taking my comfy sneakers, a pair of flats, a pair of thongs and a pair of heels. I can fit them all in my suitcase and I'm pretty sure I would wear them all more then twice each during the trip.

I have two days at the end of the tour, back at the Stovalls Inn, and I plan on doing Disneyland. I'm kinda hoping to meet some people to go with, otherwise I will go on my own! I might be a grownup, but that doesn't mean I will miss the happiest place on earth

I got my travel documents today, how exciting! Only 4 weeks to go

I've decided to not take my mobile phone, so won't have an alarm clock. Do you think the hotels we will be staying at will have wake up calls if you call the front desk? I know the hotels here at home normally do it. Should I risk it or buy a travel alarm clock?

Let me know what everyone thinks...

Im sure most places will be able to help out, or at least have an alarm clock. Youll have a room buddy too (I assume) so you should be fine

I'm thinking of doing a day trip the day before the tour stars; heading down to the OC beaches (Huntingtons, Newport etc). If anyone wants to join me you are most welcome. Apparently this company is a good option Anaheim tour company and you can hop on/hop off...
