I'm Kate and my friend is Michelle, and yes we are from Australia too. We are checking out LA after the tour finishes - Disneyland and the like. What about you? I think that there may not actually be all that many people on the Wild Western, as we are on the same bus as the LA to the Bay tour (and the others) I think most people might be doing that one and hopping off in San Fran. Not sure though. There's quite a few people who have posted for that one. Smiler

Well nice to meet ya Kate (& Michelle)
Thats really wierd how we're joined up with other tours - i didnt think it would be like that...i did a contiki tour in europe earlier this year and it was really good fun hangin out with the same people for the whole tour - oh well at there are a few of us doin the Wild Western!!

Im only staying in LA the night b4 the tour starts and two nights after so wont get to see a real lot. But i have been doin lots of travel so thats ok - im actually on my way home from studying in Canada with this trip so was glad i could fit it in! Are you guys stayin in the Contiki hotel thing in Anaheim before and after the tour?

I've been studying in Adelaide the last couple of years but live near Wagga Wagga so not too far from you guys

well im so glad to know some ppl on this trip now - should be some good times - only a month away!!

Yeah it is odd isn't it? I wasn't sure whether to be disapointed or happy about that! I did a Europe contiki earlier this year too, and I think it'll be strange having some people leaving us half way through the trip and new people joining! But oh well, sure to be a good time anyway! Can't wait.

Hi Everyone!

I just got back from the November 8th Wild Western and I cannot explain how good it was. Be prepared for hot weather and a lot of alcohol.

My tour manager's name was Adam and our 'luxury coach driver' was Jerry - both amazing guys. You'll be lucky if you get them.

I hope all of you guys have a great time. All I can recommend is that you take plenty of spending money and a suitcase that is only half full. If you don't smoke, you'll probably be tempted in Vegas because you can smoke ANYWHERE and drink in the streets.

If anyone has any questions, please dont hesitate to ask - I spent 11 months planning my holiday and God, was it worth it. I know you guys will have a great time.

Hi Luke,

Every single part of our trip was good. You base it on all different kinds of things. I'd say that about 3/4 of our people were Aussie, so hanging around them made it feel like being at home every day. They were so much fun and you know what happens when you combine Aussies and booze...

San Diego and San Francisco are both beautiful cities. They were really nice and both up there in my favourites. San Diego was a good hotel that let us socialise easily and that's where we also went to SeaWorld and Mission Beach. We also went to a great restaurant (I wont spoil the surprise) and a bar that had $1 drinks.

San Fran was a great city for shopping and Pier 39 is nice. Our bus driver was gay so he took us to the well reknowned Castro which is the city's gay district. Hitting the gay bars was probabably one of the best parts of the trip - even the guys agreed. We also went to Alcatraz on our free day (it isnt offered by the tour).

Yosemite Park was beautiful - I rate it better then the grand canyon. We saw bears and deer and raccoons. Everything that you typically expect from an American state forest.

My email is possymleg@hotmail.com - just keep hitting me with questions til you cant think of any more. Like I said, I'm so happy to help.

Keep saving guys! It's so worth it.

Tonia xx
