Perhaps you could put a definition or a link to a definition of "Preferred Departure" on each of the tour pages? It's a bit vague, and will hopefully save on this being discussed repeatedly in the forums.

I'm not too sure where the term 'prefered departure' came from, but I think it's the same as a Guaranteed Departure

I think where the confusion lies is that on the website it was originally "guaranteed departure" but now they have changed it to "preferred departure"

I think they changed it from guaranteed departure to preferred departure because guaranteed ones weren't ALWAYS guaranteed.

So just to clarify - preffered departure means the tour is departing or still waiting departure?

I think they're trying to avoid issues that may have arisen when a guaranteed departure got cancelled. I would go with a Preferred departure being 95% likely to go, especially with the more popular tours.

I think it's a way to get people to book specific dates in larger numbers, instead of getting everyone spread out between all the dates and having to shuffle people around as much.
