Hi guys & gals,

I’m Kate from Contiki’s web team & I have some exciting news for you.

The web team has been working diligently behind the scenes to bring you a new look and feel to the Contiki website, as well as adding a few cool new features. We’re also introducing some community features to give you more ways to interact with fellow community members!

All of these changes are really exciting, but we need YOUR help in generating content! Here are two ways you can help out if you’re interested…

1. Image Tagging: We thought it would be cool for each tour page to display relevant community images, rather than the random display we currently have. If you guys haven’t been already, it would be greatly appreciated if you tag the images you upload with any relevant keywords you can think of. This will help out heaps & will also connect you with other users who view your photos from the tour pages.

2. Another thing you can help us with is building our Asia & Mexico image gallery. Since these destinations are brand new to Contiki, we don’t have any photos from these regions yet. If you happen to have travel photos from Mexico or Southeast Asia, it would be great if you would like to post them!

Thanks so much Contiki community – you guys are truly the greatest! Feel free to provide your feedback & suggestions once you see the new changes. Stay tuned, as these design changes & new features are scheduled to take place within the next 2 weeks!

hey kate,
just a little suggestion,
would it be possible to have a link to the meeting place forum for each tour on the info page for the tours?
just thought it might give people a chance to see what kinda people tend to tour and may also be able to give them a few quick answers to questions/queries.

Just a bit of feedback about the new site, it's kinda hard to read, not sure if its the red links on the dark background or the red links in general. I don't know if I can speak for anyone else but I was having trouble reading it so I thought i'd put it out there!

Hey guys – thanks so much for your feedback on the site.

@ Shane’o – great idea on the trip meeting place links directly on the tour pages! We’re actually working on developing a meeting place for each tour to help people connect with fellow travelers prior to departure & to get their inquiries answered, etc. This should come about within the next couple of months, I believe. Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas.

@NaHdz – sorry to hear that you find the new site a little difficult to read. I’ve mentioned the red links to the web team & we’re most likely going to change the color to something that is easier on the eyes. I have a quick question for you though. I’m not too sure where you’re seeing the red links “on the dark background.” Would you mind sending a link to one of the pages that you find especially difficult to read & let me know what makes it difficult to view or find information? We definitely want the site to be easy to use and this includes making sure you can easily view & find the information you are looking for.

Its ok now lol the sites looking great again, it might've just been in limbo or something while you were working on the new site..not sure but it's all good now

Thanks for the follow up NaHdz! It sounds like at the time you were probably still seeing the old blue background, underneath the new colored links. I believe this was just a caching issue with Internet Explorer that some people experienced right when we switched over (and should be completely resolved now). Glad to hear it's displaying properly for you now though!
