Hahhaa, we're girls, we don't pack light. I know its hard. I should probably start putting the clothes I want to bring and then figure out if I want to bring my suitcase or my dad's which is bigger and has better compartments. Umm I was thinking like only 3 pairs of shoes, flip flops, running shoes and a pair of shoes to go out, but no high heels (as much as i love them), those cobblestone streets will kill you. I would probably pack a light umbrella as well, if I can find mine. Probably 2 bathing suits, a few capris, 2 skirts or so, a dress, 1 or 2 pairs of jeans, a zip up sweater, obviously a beach towel and a shower towel just in case, a crap loads of underwear and socks, and tees and tanks. I should probably make myself a list. I just don't really want to be stuck doing laundry, although the limitation is 44lbs. I'll have to weigh it at home and see lol. Anything I'm missing or any ideas?

I know I think I'm going to make a list this week otherwise I know I will forget something. I think I'm going to bring my blow dyer and a electricty converter because otherwise my hair will just be out of control, I want to look back and like my pictures haha. I would love to bring my straightner but I just dont know. I know I wanted to bring a pair of high heels but your right those streets are brutal. My dad went to Greece last year and told me to make sure you photo copy your ids so you have proof in case anything happens to the real ones.. Im going to pack a little first aid kit..mainly cause I'm on my own after but I know I'll need advil or gravol at least once during the trip...hmm we should put our lists together

LOL, I never really blowdry my hair, its really long and just takes too much time. BUT I do need to buy an adaptor/converter to charge my ipod. Or maybe just not bring it?! Well instead of heels maybe like wedges which is what i think i'm going to bring. Yeah for sure, make copies of your passport and keep one inside your suitcase, one with you, and one at home at least...I was thinking of buying a money belt...no not those ugly fanny packs but the ones you put under your shirt and its flat on your skin so it doesnt totally ruin the outfil lol.
Ahhh first aid kit, great thinking! Pills I'll need to bring those! haha yes we should put our lists together, would make things easier. 2 heads are better than one.
Oh and I called about the shuttle and its like $30, I think its a little much, shouldnt they include a shuttle with their tour, I mean c'mon right?! Not asking for that much. When I get the package I'll try and find an easier way to get to the hotel without it costing so much.

hey! Yes those money belt things are good, I have the one your talking about that goes in the shirt. Well I'm borrowing one I hope its not too bulky. I decided on wedges as well and today I went to seattle to find some cheap dresses I could easily roll up and I found two pretty cute ones for 20$ so that was great. I wish my hair didnt need to blow dried its sick other wise..sort of the whole drowned rat look. haha. Ok so we've got sandals, wedges, flats..runners?? maybe for hikes.. ok bathing suits (not beach ready yet but were working on that tanks, capris, dresses( Im big on those I just hope my backpack doesnt pull them up lol as my friend pointed out today...maybe a pair of jeans or two?? what do you think. towels...ok what am i missing..light sweater...what about a jacket??

oooh drowned rat look, HOT!! Nice, I still need to find a dress, although I have some, I might just wear one I already own, and freakin sweet only $20. I'm going to syracuse with the 'rents in a couple weekends so maybe I'll find some deals. Although, found 2 cute bathing suits for less than $20 each...and i'm not in hot shape to wear them either but oh well, i want to tan and i'm not really there to impress anyone lol. I would suggest bringing runners if you're bringing flats as well, flats sometimes tends to irritate the back of my feet...but maybe that's just me. I was thinking of just bringing a bit purse instead of a backpack?! I dont even think I own a decent backpack, I went to school with a big purse and my stuff inside haha. Yeah probably a couple pairs of jeans for the evening or something when its a little cooler...jacket..hmm maybe a light raincoat? Sunscreen!!!

I wasnt going to take a backpack because they can be so awkward, not to mention heavy, but since im on my own afterwards it just works out easier in the long run. Yeah runners are a must I think. dang mine are so of falling apart but its better to have them just in case. I completely forgot about sunscreen! Good call on that one. I have two bathing suit tops and one bottom, darn I wish I could find cheap bathing suits! Hey are you bringing some cash and then just your debit or credit card..or how are you doing the money situation.

oh that's right, you're off for a few weeks after that, lucky! Wouldnt be able to take that much time off work lol. I actually found mine at Zellers, try Old Navy, they have decent priced ones and they're cute. I think I'm going to bring a bit of cash on me like a few hundred euros or so just so I can pay for small stuff like water, or cab fare or something or to get me started at least. Most of it will probably be paid by my credit card. Oh right, I read this somewhere, but we should probably call our bank/mc/visa to let them know we will be using our cards in Europe so they don't think something is up and deny your card lol. Just a little tip . 19 days oh my gosh, so exciting!!
| |
hey! Oh thats a good idea about the bank, another good call is if you are using debit at all and your Pin is longer than 4 digits you need to call your bank and change it because europe only allows four digit pins..weird i know. I cant believe it 19 days already, im suprised no one else from our tour is on here yet. maybe were just the keeners. I was also told to bring some laundry soap too just in case, but I think that applies more to me since im travelling after, but who knows it could be a good call. oh ok old navy for bathing suits, I have to go there tomorrow anyway I need to find another pair of cotton capris, just something light, all mine are from the gym and are starting to stretch out. are we missing anything?
| |
Oh wow! Totally didn't think of that. I will pay a visit to the bank tomorrow then.
I know crazy!! Time goes by so fast, the next thing we know we'll be on here reminiscing lol. And absolutely nothing wrong on being keeners! I actually read somewhere that the majority of people who book don't know there are forums hence why only a small % use them. I think just liquid soap does the trick on clothes, it's not the best way but you save on bringing extra stuff. But that's obviously your call since you'll be travelling alone for a bit. I found a pair of black capris I was FINALLY looking for. I have beige and khaki, but black just seems like a colour of capri you should own you know. Hmmm, oh I thought maybe plastic bags or a medium sized garbage bag to put your dirty laundry in, or some kind of light bag to pack so you can separate the clean clothes from the dirty ones. An alarm clock might be good. Lots of batteries, camera obviously. I think we've pretty much got the basic stuff down.

Garbage bags good call! I need to find some black capris! All my crapris are like yoga wear...hmm where did you find yours? Batteries are a must, although I mean if you run out you can buy them there too. I think ive decided on bringing a straightner only, screw the blowdryer a straightner can dry my hair too. at least it will keep it contained so its not a messy puff...im excited about the food in Greece, the only thing thats not cool is I have a wheat allergy and everything in europe is bread and pastries!! Oh well, I'll be eating a lot of salads and wine.
| |
YAY for wine!! But that really sucks about the wheat allergies :S. Bought most of my capris where you are headed today at old navy lol. Black capris got some cheap ones at Zellers, once again lol. Never shop there but ran accross some bathing suits and saw the capris and figured why not at least try them on. Although, yoga wear is very comfy. I just got my package in the mail yesterday

You got the package! Im sopossed to get mine this week, but I havent heard anything yet. What does it have in it?
| |
umm you get a little carry pouch with all the documents inside which include a calling card, the tour documents including which hotels you stay in, a little standard guide book on what to not bring on carry-on and how things will proceed in different tours and some info on different countries, a luggage tag, a pamphlet with the optional excursions (some of them are quite expensive :S), the travel insurance plan if you got it and I think that's it...
You should get it soon!

oh thats exciting1 16 DAYS!! Im going out to buy little things today for the trip!i found some good shorts a bootlegger, still no capris! the ones that look good on me are so expensive and i had no luck at old navy!
| |
Really?! Usually Old Navy has good capris, but I bought mine last year. I think the black ones I bought are more shorts though, I don't know what the name for it is, more like shorts that ends at the knees. Holy crap 16 days? Time just flies!!! I think I'll do that this week, buy the little things, like shampoo, conditioner, and sunscreen and soap might be a good idea as well lol.
I can't believe how fast the 20th is approaching.
