Yeah I'm glad I'm not the only solo traveller too. I'm not sure, I'm assuming it's near 50 since when I called yesterday, all tours were booked till July and I asked how many is there on a tour when it's completely booked and she said 50. I assume someone has cancelled and I just took their spot. So I'm assuming this is going to be a big group.
I was actually debating between KLM and AirFrance they both have cheaper flights than anyone else. Although with AirFrance I only have to make one stop. What time to you get to Rome on the 21st?
No unfortunately, I can't afford to miss that much work although it would be awesome to do so.
Hey! I get there late, like 8pm or something. How about you? Did you manage to find a flight yet? Also do you know if they pick us up at the airport or do we have to make our own way there? I havent gotten the iterary from my travelk agent yet so Im not sure
Oh wow you get there late, I would be getting there around noon-ish. I found one with Air France I just need to book it. I've never booked online though, so I'm a little iffy about that. I think we have to make our own way there, or so I read. I think I read something about you could ask them to get a shuttle for you to bring you to the hotel, I don't know how much extra it is but they say to take a taxi from the airport was like 40 Euros, hello that's like 80 CDN lol.
oh really thats so expensive, I thought my travel agent said they pick us up...crap. yah Im not sure why i get in so late but when I leave to go home its at like 3am! That's not going to be fun. I wonder if we will even be on the same tour, ive heard with big groups they split us up. I just hope I dont get anyone lame in my room lol
Well maybe they do but I thought I read on the site that you have to make your own way to the hotel or you can arrange with them to get a shuttle. Don't take my word for that, I'll call them as soon as my flight is confirmed and I'll let you know. Yikes that is late eh, I leave in the evening and get there around noon (I really hope I get that flight, I got it cheap with expedia).
They do? That's lame, I thought the buses or what not was equipped for 50 people, the maximum they can book on one tour. And same here, would totally suck to be with someone anti-social or uber *****y.
yah I'm not sure, my friend did one of the europe ones last year and she said they spilt everyone on to two teams, but i should ask her how big the group is. I can't believe how fast this trip is coming up! I just bought the Greece lonely planet book, it's really helpful! What part are you looking forward to most?
I know less than a month!! CRAZY! I still can't believe I managed to book it so late. I actually have a book on Europe, I should probably check out what it says about Italy and Greece. I don't know just everything, the different culture, the adventure, getting lost and finding something that tourists usually don't find. I think mainly the Greek islands will be really beautiful and a nice and relaxing end to the tour. Also meeting new people from different parts of the world, and fellow travellers that are braving this alone like us lol...What about you?!
Yeah me too, I've heard it's absolutely gorgeous, although my boyfriend is in love with Italy, he's been there twice and wants to go visit again eventually.
