Hello all,

I recently booked the Rome to Athens trip that starts in Rome on July 16th. I will be in the area the 4 days prior to the departure so if anyone else is in vicinity and would like to take in the sights or maybe do a little hiking in the Amalfi area let me know.

Im flying in form California, Huntington Beach to be exact. My flight Deaparts in Los Angeles with a connection in Atlanta. Im traveling solo as well.

Looks like there's lots of us going solo and flying in around the same time...that makes me feel much better) I'm a 27 year old female from Toronto, and its my second time doing a Contiki solo. Should be a good one!!

Is anyone taking the transfer from the airport to the hotel, or you taking cabs? I think I will purchase the transfer from Conitki.

Well, if anyone is interested in meeting up the morning of the 16th, before the group meets in the evening, let me know...I fly in at 8:00am. Was hoping to maybe go check out the Vatican museum/Sistine Chapel on the 16th. I know its crazy to get in that time of year, and it usually takes a few hours to see. Let me know. See you all soon!!

I defintley would be interested in meeting up with any who want to see the Vatican and sistene chappel etc. We should all perhaps exchange phone numbers so that we can be in communication when we land. From what I have been reading on this forum it appears a lage number of us arrive at 8am.

I was never offered a transfer to the hotel? How much is that? Form what I remmeber on my last trip the transfer was free? Has this changed?

In my travels with all inclusive packages, transfers to hotel are always included. But with the Contiki tours you have to purchase a transfer if you want one. Otherwise you take a cab. I paid $29 canadian for the transfer (they asked for my flight/arrival details). I thought it was worth it since a cab costs around 50 euros from the airport in Rome! If you decide to purchase the transfer...since you are flying in at the same time as me, I assume we will be on the same tranfer shuttle. Let me know what you decide to do.

Lets plan on meeting up at the shuttle and let me get you Italian # just in case. I will call contiki and ask for the transfer. Thanks for the info!

I just booked my trip. I am arrving on the 16th too but at 10:45am. Thanks for the tip about the transfer. I wasn't offered one but just called to ask for one.

why don't we all just meet in the lobby of the hotel and go sightseeing a bit?
