These new itenaries certainly are very well planned and should be ok as they are run by a very well established sub agent -Trails of Indochina.

However of the 6 new itenararies , the markup cost of 5 of them are actually very high.

There is only 1 which is of good value though.Anyone who has lived/ travelled through S.E.A. can clearly identify this.

I think only the people that have traveled with Contiki and have also traveled alone can comment.
Everyone wants different things out of travel so you just need to get out there and do it for yourself.
I'm still looking forward to my trip next year.

I agree. I think these tours will be VERY different to anything Contiki has done in the past and I hope, for their sake, they prove this author very wrong.

I also suspect that the age range on these tours will be slightly older than the groups going around Europe and America.

Well to tell you the truth I think I am going to take the contiki tour, I took the Egypt and the Nile tour back in March and it was an unforgettable experience and it was nothing as those people want to portrait it,,,and Heck the main reason I love to travel with Contiki is the fact that I can have FUN while visiting and discovering new places.

So what date are u guys planning to go?

The author is actually an ex-employee of Contiki who had a role as a supercook on their European circuits and has presumably witnessed many things.European contikis are run in a totally different manner though- especially on the concept/camping basis- they tend to be more theme night/ party oriented, rushed , minimal sightseeing and exhausting kind of experiences.

Egypt and the Nile is one of the premier products from the company as its not really a true Contiki due to the fact that its run by a sub agent. Its also different to traditional Contikis. It tends to be more luxurious/ relaxed holiday like, culture focused experience.

The new Asian tours at this stage are a total mystery to everyone, so there tends to be a lot of speculation of how these tours will actually be like in reality.

Im am also looking at going on he 14 day trip in April 09. It has been one of my dreams to go over to asia but as I usually travel by myself I have choosen to go with a tour group this time, it is a bit of a worry for me in Asia. I have done contiki tours b4 in New Zealand and traveled on my own in Canada and USA. but to do asia on my own, I would rather go with a group.
I am worried that it is one of Contikis 1st tours over there, but at the same time, someone has to do it and Time doies not wait for anyone! so Im going on the 1st of april, on the Asian Adventure any one dare to join me??
