Hi,

I'd like to go on one of the Vietnam tours but am nervous as I have a serious peanut allergy.

Is there anyone that has gone that can attest to the food? Are peanuts really an issue there? Cooking with peanut oil is also a big concern for me...

Any advice would be great.

This really depends on where you have your meals. In SE Asia hawkers on the roadside use the cheapest available oil - so its either peanut or palm oil depending on season.Locals are actually desentized to peanuts as its commonly consumed.I don't think anyone who has lived in SEA has any form of peanut allergies as its sort of incorporated into the diet at an early age.Kids from an early age are already consuming peanuts without any problems.

In proper restaurants its usually a higher grade palm oil.
