My friend and I are going on the Vietnam trip starting Dec. 28--looks like we'll be on the same trip with you. I was looking into the Cambodia extension and it's no longer available online. I'd check--it may have been cancelled. We're doing a 3-day layover in Tokyo instead en route to HCMC.
This is our first contiki trip--we are both professionals and in our late-20s. I've heard varying stories about Contiki trips, but in any case it will be an experience!! I'd love to hear your past experiences.
Hi Michelle, We have actually decided to go with another tour operator which included the Cambodia ext. It's a shame this portion was cxl'd by Contiki or I am sure we would have used them again.
You will have a great time I am sure! I used Contiki in 2001 London - Athens. It was a great group mixture of early 20's to early 30s, definitely a bit of a party crowd but you didn't feel left out if you were not into that. Most recently I traveled to Egypt w/ Contiki Dec 08/Jan 09 it was the BEST trip. I highly recommend this. The travelers tended to be late 20's through 30's I believe there were a few people well over 35. Again there were those who partied but for the most part we were all there for the same reason to see the country and learn the history etc. Please feel free to PM me if you want to chat about Contiki and what to expect.
Hi Michelle my sister and I are booked to go on the Vietnam Explorer trip starting on the 28h Dec as well. We have both done Contiki Europe and loved it. I've also been on the New York New Year trip with them and a 7 day South Island trip on New Zealand all of which I have totally loved. See you on the 28th!
