Hi everyone.... or anyone

I have my flights booked to fly into Australia for May 24th and after a few days of aligning myself I plan to head over to NZ for a few weeks and take in as much as I can. I want to do and see as much as I can, but mostly I want to see the glaciers and jump out of a plane. Aside from that, I will be happy to meet some new people and experience the culture and take in the beautiful scenery.
I am going by myself, and I have done a Contiki before but I'm still not sure if I'm going to do another tour, or just kinda wing it. So, I'm looking to see if anyone else is as crazy as I am and going around the same time (it's their winter I know, but it's not that cold) or if there's anyone with advice to offer me. Anything at all. I've browsed through the packing itinerary and what not to do and must-dos, I guess I'm just looking for a little structure.

I don't know how much this will help.. but
I REALIZE, I'll be in SYDNEY around the time you land ..actually May 24th is my birthday so i'll be partyin hard that night...
but im a single traveller as well...
Where will you be staying?
I plan on staying at "WAKE UP hostel" near central station for a few days..

Then on May 29th, I fly into Cairns to start my beaches and reefs tour... all along east coast.

Cant help you much on NZ, since I would have finished my NZ tour by the time I get to Australia. Yeah, doing the GRAND EXPLORER first.
