Hi Sonia,

My name is Richard, and I'm from Melbourne Australia. I'm also booked on this tour, and can't wait. I've done Contiki USA before and it was the best time ever! The difference this time is that it will be summer!

The last time, I done LA to the Bay in winter, and the Grand Canyon was -15 degrees Celcious!

Take Care!

Hi Richard,

I was beginning to think i was the only one, haha. Im from Newcastle upon tyne, England. This is my first contiki tour, a little scary but excited. That's great that you've done one before, so you really enjoyed it then?
Are you getting into Chicago earlier?

Actually ive booked the LA to the bay tour after this one, it leaves on the 25th June. Glad im going in summer then.

Hi Sonia,

You have nothing to be scared about- In the first few hour's, you'll have 40 new best friends!

This is my 3rd Contiki trip in 3 years, and I love them. And it will be awsome to go back to the states.

I actuallt arrive in Chicago the day before the tour (9th) Me and my friend are spending a week in LA and San Francisco before hand (and catch up with some friends from previous contiki tours!

Cheers!

Hi everyone,

It's great to hear from some more people going on this trip. I was also a little nervous about going solo, but talking on these forums has made me feel a whole lot at ease.

Fletcher travelling upto Canada sounds amazing! I was on holiday in Vancouver last summer, absolutely loved it.

Im also getting into Chicago on the 8th June. Gives me time to have a little look around Chicago and for jet lag.
Is everyone staying at the Days inn lincoln park before the tour departs??

Lucy are flying straight from London to Chicago? I was going to go down to London but managed to get flights straight from Newcastle.

Hi,

No, I'm actually flying in from Houston.. I'm spending 10 days travelling around Texas with a friend before going up to Chicago.

I haven't arranged any accomodation in Chicago yet, but I think I probably will stay in the Days Inn, just for the easy start on the 10th!

Travelling around Texas sounds great.
Yeah i figured it would be easier to stay there, and for the early start.

My email address is sonsands@hotmail.com for anyone who wants to keep in touch before the tour.

I'll be on this tour as well. I'm spending 6 days in New York beforehand and getting to Chicago on the 9th. After this tour i'll be in LA for 6 days and then I'm starting the Southern Adventure tour. Can't wait Smiler Oh, and there's a Grand Northern group on Facebook. We'll be joining that tour so if you wanna meet more people, I suggest checking it out.

Hey folks,

Was wondering if anyone is interested to go for the optional white-water rafting session in Cody, Wyoming? Hehe... I'm kinda keen...

Does anyone know if there will be a pre-departure meeting the night before?

Regards,
Wilson Loo

Hey Wilson, usually there would be some kind of Pre tour meeting the night before, i'm sure that the Hotel in Chicago will have some information about this the night before.

Does anyone know what the weather would be like in Yellowstone/Wyoming when we would be there- from what I can see, there is still snow at yellowstone now- probably a good idea to bring a warm jacket.

Anyway, not long now!

Cheers,

Richard
