Hey Smiler

Glad I made you happy lol! Smiler
This is just a 7 week vacation and travel experience for me, as Ive only been to Aussie a few times.

Im leaving NZ on 15th Apr for Hong Kong for a couple of days. Then I arrive in London on the 18th Apr. Spend a few days sightseeing then it will be Contiki time on the 24th!! YAY!! Im so hyped up already haha!
Then I leave London for Istanbul on the 23rd May, then Rome again on the 27th, Hong Kong on the 30th and back to NZ on the 2nd June! Phew!!

Living/Working in London sounds amazing!!
Ill be finishing my diploma, and then moving to Melbourne later on in 2008, cos I love it lol!!
But hey, you never know what could happen over there - I may get a villa in Tuscany haha!!

What do u want to do in London workwise?
Do you have any othr travel plans?
Look forward to meeting you too!

Laurenne

Hey Kellie,

1st of april...ooh not long to go for you now! 70 or so days! My plans for after the tour, still deciding at the moment! I have a 12 month plane ticket and will be getting my british passport soon hopefully, so after my tour i am eitehr going to:
a) try to find a job straight away in the UK (or possibly in Europe depending on whats avaliable) and then svae up for weekend adventures and more travelling between jobs OR..

b) keep travelling until my money runs out and then get a job.

The more sensible option would be 'b' but yeah we'll see how it goes!

What about you...any work plans whiel your over there??

Hi Kel and Jords,

I am hoping to book on to the European Escapade tour for one of the april ones, am still deciding which one.
But i'm in the same situation as Jords. I'm travelling for nearly a year and am spending the most of it in England/Europe working and travelling and i've also got a British passport. But i'm trying to figue out what to do tax wise in england. Are you guys gonna get a TFN or just live on the edge?

Emily.

hi emily,

i will be getting a TFN (i think over there its called a national insurance number) most likely, if your job is going to be paying your salary into your bank account then you will need one. Otherwise if your planning on finding cash in hand work then you wont need one. Perhaps you should condsider going to the 1st contact seminars they are holding in feb, its all about living and working in the UK, setting up bank accounts etc. Hopefully itll prove useful!

Hope to have you join me and laurenne!

unfortunately the seminars are only held in australia and new zealand. ill let you know how it goes, and if any of the packages are useful, then you can just pay online im assuming (they have a $75 kickstart package which helps you set up a bank account, free mobile sim card, orietantaion talk in the UK on finding work, setting up NI numbers. just let me know your email and ill get back to you in a few weeks.

So jealous that your already travelling! Its stinking hot in perth today...37 deg!

Don't be too jealous i've been going through sun deprivation although it's still been heaps of fun. That'd be great if you could let me know. I don't know why i didn't think to find something like that before i headed out. It sounds lke a pretty good setup. My email address is emilys.world@hotmail.com. Thanks heaps for that Jordanna. Goodluck with getting ready to go, i reckon thats gotta be the worst part of any trip.
