Howdy Rach

Atleast you will have us two crazy kids from Melbourne to keep you company.

Yeah its guna be our first euro experience too, so it is going to be well fantastic....so cant wait. When do you land in the uk?
Our touchdown in the uk is on the 2nd aug.

So you are going by yourself? Are you going just for a holiday for the tour or longer or are you doing a working holiday?

Keep in touch as we all count down the weeks, days and minutes till the euro experience can be enjoyed.

Take it easy

Hey Crazy Kids!

My name is Mindy, and my friend Krystle and I will be coming on the 5th Aug trip too!

I'm also a first-time Contiki traveller, the furthest i've been from home is NZ (nice place ya got there, Rach!) So obviously I'm sooo pumped.

I wonder if we'll be on the same flight as you boys - Kryst and i are flying out of sunny Melbs on the night of the 1st and getting in to Heathrow on the 2nd (sometime in the arvo??? - not too sure of the time). We should definitely catch up before tour time, so at least I'll know some people on the tour BEFORE getting crammed onto a bus with them Smiler

Cheerio,

Mindy

Hi everyone!

Whooohooo! Its starting to sink in now that the message board has got
going!!!!  Can't beleive that I am actually finally heading off -
only been hanging out for this trip for the past three years...!!!

Am flying out of NZ on 2 Aug and i think i land in Heathrow on 3
Aug...am staying at an aunts house for a couple of nights and then am
thinking of staying at the Contiki hotel the night before the trip
starts - any of you guys going to be staying there...? i heard there is
a meeting or somthing on the Friday night...?

am heading over on a holiday/working visa - assuming they'll give me
one that is!  no plans for where/what/how or anything for after
the contiki, am hoping to meet up with some new buddies and just see
where it takes me...

keep in touch guys and gals!

rach ;-)

A night in Japan??? I am sooo jealous! I think we have an hour and a half to stretch our legs at Singapore airport, other than that, it's straight through from Melbs to London (perhaps one of the less exciting aspects of our fun-filled adventure!). What am i complaining about? I'm even looking foreward to spending 24 hours cramped into a seat. I LOVE HOLIDAYS Smiler

Rach, we'll be staying at one of the Contiki hotels for the 3 nights before (the Royal National, maybe?) and for 2 nights after, and then heading back home again <sniff, sniff>. Unfortunately, my boss wasn't very receptive to the suggestion that he let me take an indefinite time of leave... Oh well, next time!

We'll definitely have to catch up in Melbs (though not too early - I need to calm down a bit and remember that there's still 5 1/2 months til contiki. I've already started having nightmares about packing - seriously!). It'll just be me though; Kryst lives in Wodonga (a bit far to come just to say hi).

Well, that's enough procrastination, I'd better get back to work.

Catch ya!

Mindy

Greetings fellow travellers Smiler

I'm a Perth gal, and this will be my second Contiki tour. I did the European Horizion (10 days) in 2003 and had an absolute blast, but didn't think it was long enough. I tell you, Aug 5th can't come soon enough. I'm sooooooo stressed out at work and in desperate need for a holiday. I think a 25 day European tour, followed by two and half weeks in London and then a week in Singapore is what the doctor ordered!

And it's great to meet some people from Melbourne - give me tips on what to expect when I move there next year!

Nat

Heya Nat!

Fabulous to hear from you - another contiki buddy! Since you're the only one of us to have already done a contiki trip, it'll be great to learn from a master! The fact you enjoyed the 1st enough to come on a 2nd just makes me even more excited! I know what you mean about work - I'm sooo over it at the moment, and the only thing that's getting me through it at the mo is reading contiki msg boards when i can catch a moment!

So moving to melbs, huh? I've got one thing to say - WHY? I love Perth, and I'd move there in a flash, except it's too far from my friends etc. Seriously, I love melbs (so many fun things to do), but it does rain a lot. When it's not raining, it's cloudy. Oh well!

If anyone wants to contact me directly rather than messing about with these oh-so-slow message boards, my email is: mindy_allott@hotmail.com

Cheerio,

Mindy

Woo hoo! Another fellow tripper! Welcome aboard. You'll find that most people on the tour will be Aussies and Canadians. I think there was a handful of Brits on my last tour, but hey, I'm pretty sure that everyone will be friends by the time the tour has finished!
