Hey everyone -

I just signed up for this tour. I'm from the US (Washington DC area).. this will be my third Contiki (after Egypt and Greece/Turkey) and I can't wait. It's good to see there are so many other single travelers going!

If anyone wants to chat on Facebook you can look me up at brycem2004@yahoo.com.

Emily - I'm planning to stop in London for two days either before or after the tour, I'm not sure yet. When will you be there?

Hey, I see there are several solo travelers on the forum. With less than a month to go I'm wondering if our trip will be fully booked or not. I'm traveling with my friend and this is our second contiki trip. Anyone else anxious to get this month over with?

when I did a contiki last year, there was hardly anyone from my tour on the forums.
I got on the tour and the tour was full.
So hopefully this will be the same.

See you all on tour

Hey guys,
Started counting down now til the tour. I've already started my holiday, in Japan at the moment. Just wondering if anyone has looked into how to get from the airport to the hotel? Don't wanna pay for a cab if there's a bus or train!

Slackers? ha... well I'm not so much looking for the ppl to be on the forum, its just that this trip is still 'available' where the May ones have been full for several months now.
Yes I briefly looked up the route. There are 3 city buses that go to the airport and they all run into different Subway (train) lines. But then the scary long german words got the best of me.. and I alt + F4 the page. I'm going to procrastinate some more, i don't technically need to have this figured out til April 24 at about 9:30am

Ok my curiosity got the better of me, the bus we need TXL 109. According to tripadvisor.com:

Tegel Airport (TXL): Approximate driving time to Hotel Belmondo am Kurfürstendamm is 15 minutes and distance is 7 miles (11 kilometers).

The number 109 public bus travels from the airport and stops at the hotel.

Berlin city center is small enough to enable visitors to see the major sites on foot. However, the public transport consisting of trams, buses and underground trains is efficient and reliable..

blah blah blah
this is the transportation site:

Hey guys -

I've been to Berlin a couple of times - the TXL and 109 are two separate buses. The 109 is better for our hotel because it goes straight to the Zoo U-Bahn station (very close to the hotel). The TXL is more frequent but it goes to Hauptbanhof, which is a few stops away from our hotel.

Also, that is only if you are flying into Tegel airport - a lot of the cheaper airlines (Easyjet, etc.) fly into Schoenfeld instead, although that is pretty easy to get to since it's right on the S-Bahn.

Okay, I just received my travel documents yesterday. I was wondering what the ladies are going to pack? Its a tricky time of year. It could be really warm, or absolutely freezing so I am having trouble!
