hullo all
I don't know if they have changed but what I luv about contiki 5 years back was that they will bring you to the "important" places, and after all the oohs and ahhs are over, u will probably be left there with maps on hand, and assurances of being picked up by the bus, sometime in the evenin.
So we get to enjoy the convenience of a tour group plus time to wander by urselves as well... remember to be punctual tho' or risk being abandoned in town.. :P

Tsing, its so funny you say to be on time...when I went to an EF tour, first the tour bus left me in sevilla, Spain. Then I got lost in Toledo with my other 2 friends. Of course I look back and laugh, but it was funny and scarry. Hopefully that was the 1st and last time that happens!

HAHA! oh no! I cant believe the tour left you. I was actually on an EF tour once and I thought the bus had left me at Dachau in Germany I got seperated from the group and thought we were suppose to meet at the bus an hour later then we were really suppose to !! I think i learned my lesson lol! What did you think of the EF tour Christy? I had a great time but there were some real young people on the tour (high school students) and they were really whiney!

tsing- we roamed Toledo for about 2 hours by ourselves and LUCKILY ran into our group! In a way I'm really happy we got lost...b/c it was just another memory to build like you said! Sara Jo- I'm sure we both learned our lesson, but hey you never know...we might just be the two lucky ones that get left. haha. Anyway I actually took the EF tour after I graduated senior year of high school so it was only ppl I knew from my highschool on the tour...but yea I think it is mostly High school students on EF. I don't think I'll ever go on one again just b/c the hotels we stayed at were so bad. One didn't even have air conditioning!

Well I have been in London for the last couple of days, and I am about to fly to Latvia to start my tour of Russia and Scandinavia, and the weather here is beautful! It has been over 27 degrees for the last three days. I am told its still pretty cold in Russia, but if this London weather is anything to go by, its going to be pretty warm by the time our tour starts. Can't wait, see you all soon

Hi All, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Rachel and I'm from Canberra, Australia. I am currently working in Ireland for 4 weeks before joining this tour. I'm arriving the day the tours starts about mid afternoon and would love to catch up with any of you that are arriving at this time. I'm travelling alone and just turned 30 (as in yesterday)!!!! Not sure whether to celebrate or commiserate..... I am very, very excited. This is my second trip to Europe and my second contiki (the first one was fantastic so I thought I'd give it a go again). On our itinery the only place I've been to is Vienna and it is gorgeous. Look forward to speaking to you all soon. I've only just been told about this message board by my 21 year old cousin (I'm already slipping behind the times!!!!). Anyway not long to go now. Have fun. Rachel
