Thanks for all the information everyone! However, I really hope that there are no guys like that on our tour! They seemed really rude!

Hey everyone ... got a totally shallow question if anyone knows the answer?? Will we still get stamps in our passports at the borders? I want stamps to show how well travelled I've become!!!

It depends on what country you are travelling through Annie. You always do when flying into a country. But I have been to Europe 3 different times, and the only stamp I got when travelling through borders by train or bus was one in Austria. So you might not get as many as you would like!

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduct myself. Smiler I'm from the US, 22 (turning 23 shortly after the trip ends), and really looking forward to this vacation! I'm traveling alone, and signed up to be paired up with other solo travelers for a triple room share. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hi, Brenda, I think we're in the same boat. I am travelling alone too and have opted for the triple share room.

I heard that the women in Eastern Europe dress up more than in some other places in the world (well at least in America) Should I forget the jeans? what are you guys thinking? Is it to early to be planning what I will wear for the first night in Berlin...or the evening cruise in Budapest!? haha I hope not

Sara-Jo, the European women I know here do dress up more when the occasion requires so I am bringing a couple of light dresses that can be worn to the dinners etc and one pair of heels. Mind you the dresses are not way fancy as they also need to be able to handle travel in a suitcase!! That said, I will have at least one pair of jeans with me too for the casual dinners but I will wear with a light shirt or something. Not too early to think about outfits because I am thinking about it too!

Sara-Jo as far I know none of us will get our packages earlier than 3 weeks prior. I too am busting to know where we will stay! The Contiki site lists the hotels they use and for some cities there is only one listed so I guess that will be where we stay.

Do any of you know how you are getting from the airport to the Comfort Hotel where we start?? I land at Tegel Airport and have NO idea! I have emailed the hotel to ask them if they can give me directions!!! Let me know if any of you want me to forward their response.

hey annie,
from what i was told from my travel agent, contiki don't organise transfers but apparantly according to contik it is only about 20 euro taxi ride to get from tegel to the comfort hotel. Or failing that (if you have enough energy) there are trains you can catch from the airport.

Phelon, I emailed the hotel and they obviously get asked the same question heaps as they sent back a letter with directions from all of the nearby airports! Taxi is about 20 euro but they reckon the bus will only be 2 euro and gave specific route numbers and everything.
