Hello Everyone (welcome Bella)

Bella, I will be in Berlin on the 5th and am staying at the hotel we all meet at for the start of the tour (forget the name)
I am nervous too about travelling alone but I must admit this forum has made me feel a whole lot better about it.
I'm thinking about bringing 2 nice dressy outfits. Will that be enough do you think? (please don't think I'm obsessed with the packing issue haha)

Bella - glad to hear someone else close to my age is going, I was beginning to feel like the granny of the group!!

Hi Lisa! Tell us about yourself.

I'm arriving in Berlin on the 6th and staying at the same hotel too. Can't decide if I'm going to spend the day sleeping and trying to speed through the jetlag or whether to just drink Red Bull and go sightseeing instead! The more i think about it the more I'm thinking stuff the sleeping!!

Don't worry about being the grannie Annie, I'm only just going to make the 35yo deadline. I'm travelling by myself as well - from Perth. Arriving in Berlin on the 6th after western europe trip and russia, so i might be pretty exhausted by then. Better save me some of those red bulls....

I haven't really thought about what im packing yet, i like to leave things till the last minute! But i will probably bring a couple of dresses and some dressy tops. I am doing a tour of Russia before this one, and I imagine it will be a little colder than Eastern Europe. So I may need to bring a mixture of clothing for different weather Smiler

I don't know how you can handle 2 contiki's right after one another...although I guess it's basically like doing one that goes for a month. I am trying to organise myself at the moment, it's looming ever closer and I have to organise my transfers, go to the dentist and all those other little things.

Hi all, I am trying to decide between a few trips (this being one of them)...I'm a 31 yr old female from Nova Scotia and am excited to see a few "mature" (didn't want to say old) people on the trip!

I like being called "mature"! Glad to know there's a few of us now.

No idea on the bus trip lengths Alex ... and only know the hotel name that we start off at in Berlin but don't have it with me so will have to get back to you on that. I guess it will be provided to us by Contiki closer to the date??

My only concern is about the time of the bus travel, I have no idea of this....
Do you know if they just live us in the cities with a map or something is already scheduled??

Alex there are a lot of scheduled activities and sightseeing already planned but there is also free time in the cities for us to do our own thing. For some that will be sightseeing for others it may be finding a pub for a beer.

Have you looked at the iternirary for the trip? It provides more info.

I have no idea of how long we are on the bus between cities but my guess would be a few hours at least. I know there will be stops for drinks and stuff and also sightseeing but maybe you need to email Contiki for more info???

I am still trying to decide on this tour - I have been to Berlin, Vienna and Warsaw already with Contiki. The hotel in Warsaw is gorgeous as is the one in Vienna (hotel Pyramid I think). The bus trip from Vienna to Hungary is short I believe and I think the only two really long trips are from Berlin to Prague and Warsaw to Berlin (that is long - I did it last year). I have include a travelogue from someone who did the trip a few years ago if anyone is interested.

Thanks Tara, I had no patience to read all travel log, but it gave me a good
idea of the travel time and money currency. I saw that there is no free time,
I suppose that in my case to enjoy all seconds of the trip I’ll sleep during the bus time
And enjoy the night till late…
