is anyone going on the Eastern Road tour starting on July 8? I'm going with my sister and a few other friends, most of us did the mediterranean highlights tour last year. We're all aged 23-25 from Australia.

G'day all! I'm on this tour with with my fiancee and a few mates like Curto (aka Kurt Rambis, Con Bone), Ian Downsborough and Bat Balls! We are all party people and looking for a great trip through the Eastern Bloc. Kurt Rambis is the biggest party person in the group so everyone watch out for him!!!! We all did the mediterranean highlights tour last year and had a ball. Looking forward to meeting everyone from the 7th on.....

Hi there, I am Lou, the fiancee to Gregg (Harry Kewell has a magic hat (??)). I am 25 and went on the Mediterranean Highlights tour last year with Gregg and Curto. I am a bit of a party animal but can't keep up with most of the others! (and although my fiancee doesn't like to admit it, he is becoming the same) Looking forward to getting to know any girls on the trip and possibly doing a bit more sightseeing than the last trip! Curto and I don't really drink much so we'll probably head off early each night too Abbie! And i KNOW Ian Downsborough and Bat B like to turn in early to be fresh for the days sightseeing expeditions!!!!!

Lying to the girl already, Harry? I was with these guys on the Mediterranean Highlights tour last summer, and let me tell you those Aussies can drink. Even Lou drank me under the table. :-) You'll have a great time with them Abbie, especially if you're taking pictures of all the craziness. My friend Naimish (aka Karl) and I might join you guys on this tour, but we're still thinking it over.

I really think Lenny Lenard and Karl Karlsson should come on the trip. What do you think Curto Rambis? You have to come and drink shuttles of beer with us Lenny!!!!! They'll only be a bout 3 bucks in Budapest! Plus Karl has to win 500 Euro at the casino and shout us all drinks!!!!

lol! omg i can tell already that this will be quite the trip! you guys are hysterical, at the least i'll be laughing my way through eastern europe lol! i have no doubt that aussies can drink! when i was in munich one of the aussies on the tour drank 10 litres of beer at a beer hall and was totally ok. no doubt that i won't be doing any drinking contests w/any of them!

hi Abbey look forward to meeting up with you too, I'll take pictures of the boys getting absolutely trollied too and then we can laugh at them when they feel sorry for themselves the next day! Yes I can drink a fair bit but I felt pretty awful on most of the last trip! I will have a couple of drinks like you (for most of the nights anyway) Harry can drink a lot too but Curto is the biggest party animal!

Lenny Lenard can drink alot too but only if its Budweiser or Duff beer!

Hi Abbey. Let me give you the hard word on the eastern road trip. This is how it should pretty much pan out.

1) I will easily be the hardest partier, however you will be unable to take embarrassing photos of me as I will be too stealthy and nimble to allow such incriminating shots to be taken.
2) Kurt will party to a moderate level but only for a short period of time as he will more than likely miss the bus or cab to the party destination. His sister will be worried about him and will stop drinking until his belated arrival.
3) Lenny will be unable to party as he will be too busy looking for Karl who will have wandered off and become lost at the previous tour stop.
4) Gregg will attempt to party but will find it increasingly difficult to function without his European bum buddy from the last tour "the T1000". "The T1000" has been forced to retire from the Contiki circuit after suffering from severe financial hardship from spending 3000 Euro's on jaeger bombs over the duration of our Mediterranean highlight tour in July.
5) Lou will be so focused on dealing with Gregg's T1000 withdrawl related mood swings that she will be unable to concentrate on drinking or taking incriminating drunken photos (none of which would have been of me remember due to my stealth like behaviour).
6) Bat balls is a bit of an unknown and could represent a serious threat to my partying ascendancy. Any challenge from Mr balls will be dealt with by a jaeger shot challenge upon our immediate arrival in Berlin.

That should pretty much give you a run down of the whole tour. Should be good fun!

I concurr with Ian 'belly82' Downsborough about curto rambis being a party person of moderate level. However, he has been known to miss taxis to various night club spots on COntiki tours! Once he finds you after getting lost, he peoceeds to do his Peter Garret angry dance for 25 minutes until he's drunk enough Jaeger Bombs to calm down.

However Ian Downsborough will not be the hardest partier as he will sleep in on night one and miss the bus like he and the t1000 did in Rome on the last Contiki tour! (and you are hardly stelthy and nimble. You are a lumbering ruckman who has been delisted from 3 Aussie Rules footy clubs!)

Bat Balls and i are looking forward to day 1 of 13 of the Jaeger Bomb challenge starting in Berlin! Bat Balls is a veteran of the EASTERN ROAD contiki tour so has the advantage on all of us in terms of what to expect from the 85 cent beers we will encounter.....

P.S. Will your sister be worried about you Mr Downsborough???

In Deutschland (Germany) the Jaeger bombs are called Fliegender Hirsch( Hoch Deutsch) translated (Flying deer).
All you have to do is tell them that not Jaeger bombs as you might get a Wie Bitte? pronounced Vee bit tuh(Pardon) Ich nicht verstehe( I don't understand).

Berliner wiese beer is also unique to Berlin.

Consider trying the unicum in Budapest, Pradzen pradjoy ,staropramen , Kozic beer in Prague, Ottakar dunkle bier in Wien ( Austria) Zywic beer , Zubrowka ( bison grass vodka), Slivovice in Polska.
Hopefully you guys have a great crew as well on this tour.
