Hey Gabriela - It's good to see that there are more people joining us on the tour! Is this your first Contiki? Btw, I just saw that our trip is now a guaranteed departure!!!!!! I seriously thought we would have to wait 50 days prior to leaving (towards the end of March) before knowing if our tour was a go-ahead. So it's great news, I can finally start booking flights and do some real planning! Cheers, A

Yea, they look quite nice... I could really use an early vacation right now considering that we've just been dumped with what looks like 40+ cm of snow!!!!!! *Sigh* Hope this is the last bit of winter!!!

Lucky you!!! I'd prefer sand over snow right now... Ottawa's been dumped with 56cm of snow over the weekend! I've never seen anything like this ever... It seriously feels like I'm walking in a crevass whenver I'm on the sidewalks with those 2-metre high snowbanks! Are you still going to Croatia after the tour? I'm heading to Barcelona just before the tour - I really want to visit the beach!

No need to worry!!! I was in your shoes at one point and felt the same too when I took off for my first Contiki in 2006--it was my first solo trip abroad, but I was much more excited than nervous! Plus, there'll be tons of solo travellers, like most of us on here... What I like to do before any trip is to read a few guide books and get familiar with the countries and cities (especially with the customs, etiquette, etc.), so that way I don't get overwhelmed or nervous once I arrive and I'll sort of know what to expect. I leave Ottawa for London a week before the tour to do some trekking on the western side of Europe, and will arrive in Berlin-Tegel from Paris at 9am on May 10 to get a head start on some sightseeing in Berlin before meeting with the tour group later in the evening. That means I'll have to be up bright and early at 5am in Paris! But the plan was to spend as much time in Berlin as much as I can--I heard it's an awesome city!

That sounds like a plan! My flight gets in at 9, so hopefully I'll be out of the airport by 10 and will head straight to the hotel to check-in and drop off luggage. I'm not quite sure how long it takes to get from the airport to the hotel, but I'm guessing I'll be ready to explore the city by 11! Cheers
