Hey Nikki,

Good to hear that you are on board - its going to be a blast!

Its a bit freaky, we are also doing the ski tour in Austria as well. It must be a popular combination!

Hi Nikki & Paul,

My partner and i are also coming on 4/12....we had to change from the 8/12 as it was cancelled! But we're doing 6wks independent travel after contiki. Where abouts are you guys staying for the night before the contiki? and what are your xmas plans - as we finish the 24/12 i think?

Good to know other Aussies are going! is this your first o/s trip?

Yeah is messed up quite a bit actually! We're now flying out the day before contiki starts at 6am...which meant we have to leave m best friends wedding early to get to the aiport! it also meant we have 8 xtra days in the UK we hadnt budgeted for after contiki, so we're now flying to portugal on the 29th which will be awesome. Ohh, we're also gonna be in spain from the 2nd to the 6th of january which im looking forwards to. so yeah, we're doing xmas in london too Smiler so where in Oz are you from? Are you excited? i'm trying hard to stay focused on uni work at the moment...trying to think what i'll need...as it's gonna be bloody cold hey!

im from perth Smiler yeh this trip is the only thing keeping me going at the moment, cant wait! we've decided to do the spain/portugal/morocco thing after contiki cos aparently portugal & morocco are cheaper, & u can't go to europe & not go to spain! so u will be in portugal for new years then? as much as i tell myself it's gonna be freezing over there, i still don't think i will be fully prepared for the cold. i like my warm summer days 2 much...

Yay, i'm from Perth as well!Apparently there's lots of WA ppl on this tour! For the cold i'm just taking thermals and warm clothes, but i think i'll buy stuff when i get there, then i know it will actually be suitable for europe cold - i'm excited about it though, i've never seen snow before. Is this your first over seas trip? and your first contiki?
Thats great that your going to portugal and spain, we might have to keep in touch - as we havent booked any place to stay, going to "wing" it, how about your self? Theres only a few more weeks to go!

yeh me and my 2 mates have never seen snow before either so should be interesting... 2 of us are also goin on the ski austria tour in jan for a week. gona be so funny to see what we are like snow boarding! this is not my first overseas trip but my first trip to europe and my first contiki. we've only booked accomodation for new years in barcelona so far, and thats cos we thought cheap places would get booked out. yeh less than 6 weeks to go now! cant wait..

Hey Nikki, Bec, and of course you Lampshade,

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in London, I'm one of the 5 that Paul mentioned earlier. Have you ladies got any idea what the ballpark daily expenditure should be? We've factored for about $100 AUD as an average, and it's fairly in line with the Contiki guide, but that doesn't include drinks (certainly one of the bigger expenses from my previous travel!).

Any insight you could provide would be tops.

Cheers, man I'm so amped for this trip!!
Jimbo.

We've probably budgeted around the same - as in most cases breaky is provided, and if you store away some for lunch - you save money. so we're probably yeah around 100 a day...

Oh you guys wouldn't happen to be the law students from murdoch?

Hahahahaha, yeah we would.

A timely reminder of how small Perth is! I thought I knew the name Bec Hunter. Are your mates from Murdoch too?

Is that Shirley? If so she's a very cool lady.

Yeah just trying to keep a lid on my excitement while i finish off assignments and our last exam (2 days before we fly out)

So so pumped. Can't wait to meet everyone the night before. Which is my cousin's (who lives in London) birthday, so I should be off to a bleary eyed and hungover start on Monday.

Let the good times roll!

Jimbo.

yeah my last is thursday morning. so what day do you fly out? We're flying out on the 3rd at 6am so we'll arrive in london about 8pm i think, so we'll miss the pre-departure meeting that night...We had to find last minute flights as the original contiki we were on was cancelled...as you've probably read...so feel free to let us know what goes down at the meeting...Oh, we got our contiki kits yesterday - have you?
