Hey Elyce,
Im from Perth too...doing the 9th January tour. Dont have much money now but Im saving hard! I'm planning on putting aside money for all the optional extras (about 530 euros = almost $1000) so I can do them all without worrying about costs. Then im planning on having about $2000 on top of that. Im hoping to have enough money that I dont need to care about what I spend...i think it would be the worst to be on a once in a lifetime trip and have to worry about money. Having enough money saved means it almost becomes an arbitrary thing and you can just concentrate on having fun! (And a tip...dont convert currencies to Aussie dollars in your head when you spend money cos it can become depressing how much things cost in Aussie dollars once you work it out) Breakfasts are included. Half the dinners are included. Lunches are not (Contikipedia says to budget 7-10 euros each day for lunch and I assume a bit more for the extra dinners)... For optional extras plus 10 euros per lunch and 15 euros per extra (about 10) dinners...thats about $1600. Then there are nights out and buying stuff... |

Hey- Although Iam not booked on your tour, I did do this tour in 2006 European Vista Nov.
I will be happy to help with any questions you want to throw my way. Email address cochrae@rexel.com.au In regards to money- I took enough money to cvoer all the additional extras, although in saying that when I was over there, there were a few things you might change your mind on! As one night there was a concert or event and it was also someones birthday, so we organised another activity. Other options arise when your in the country so you might not take all, but budgetting for them would be helpful. I took around 3000$ on my tour and that included drinking most nights, shopping and also shopping in London, dinners out and living up every experience. The ppl who did not take enough $$$ on the tour found themselves struggling to get invovled in activites and I think this dampened their experience. Maybs take a Credit Card as back up with a smaller limit 1000$ and then you know you'll be safe. Make the most of your time over there and worry about a Credit Card when you get back. And if you go shopping- Make sure you buy anything you like, otherwise you'll regret it later. Safe travels. x |
