Hi Chole,

This is my first time on Contiki, but I have done alot of been travelling before.

Im flying into London on Monday 3rd Sept and my friend Romina will be meeting me there on the 4th (as she is speading three weeks before hand in Rome with family). Not sure where we will be staying yet. However we have booked into the Royal??? the night of the 5th before the tour starts.

Are you staying back in London after the tour or will you be flying straight home?

Alison

Hi Chloe and Alison,

How are things for you Chloe? Nice and dry over your way?? We're absolutely drenched in NQ here. We've had 2 floods in the matter of a week! Possibly a 3rd on the way!

Hi Alison, nice to hear from a fellow Contiki tourist. I'm Brendan, 21 y.o. from Ingham in North Queensland. Ingham is a sugar cane community about an hour's drive north of Townsville.

I wonder if we're on the same flight...my cousin and I are also flying into London on 3 Sept. We're staying at the Royal National before the Tour, we could meet up and have a few drinks if you want, "meet and greet" before the tour starts so to speak. My cousin and I will be spending a week afterwards in London doing the tourist thing.

Hope to hear from you both soon.

Cheers
Mouley

Hey Guys,

Yes we will definately keen to meet up for a few drinks the night before. I think thats the norm though!

So my friend and I are both 25 (however I will be 26 by the time of travel...scary!!!!) We both know each other from work

I will be flying Singapore Airlines, getting into London at the lovely time of 5am Monday Morning. Not to happy about that, but what can you do Smiler

Hi Alison,

We won't be on the same flights..my cousin and I are both flying QANTAS to Hong Kong, then swap over to British Airways. However, we do arrive quite early like you, at approximately 5.30 in the morning. We'll be happy to be there, i don't think much sleep would be happening that day anyway. Too excited!!

Hi Chloe,

Those kind of numbers for temperatures your way..damn that's hot! That's when pools come in handy lol! Big Grin With the floods, there's no real damage done to the district, it will only really affect the sugar cane farmers. When the cane gets too much water, the cane can die and not as much sugar can be produced. That's where the main damage will be. Other than that, it was kinda fun watching the water rushing down the main street of town ha ha ha!!

Talk to you both soon,

Mouley

hey mouley,

well im glad thats all the damage then, it just means that everyone will have to cut down on the amount of sugar they put in there coffees haha. well the hot weather still continues we went out scurfing today and we all got absolultly fried, pools are great but why would you use a pool when the closest beach is only about 200m from my house and is just so beautiful a calm and cool it does the same job and you get to see everyone down the beach this way.

anyway only 6months and 17 days till we go soooo! excited

talk soon chloe

Hey Guys,

Thats great news that you have paid off your trip Chloe! I've got a few more weeks before my full payment is due..and im guessing by then it might sink in that I am definatley going. Still feels like a dream as it seems so far away.

Not much excitement this weekend. Trying to tone down on the partying etc and save some $$$ so I just went to dinner with mates.

Hope you both had a great weekend

Speak soon

Alxxx

Hi Chloe,

Great to hear that you've paid your Tour off completely..that's a big effort having paid it off long before the Tour is to start! I was aiming for it, but the plans have been put back a bit due to birthdays, trying to save at same time, etc. Paying mine off slowly, slowly Smiler

The rain is good, some people have made comments about getting big bottles, fill the bottles up and sell it off to people who really need it. I would like to see that happen Confused

Hi Alison,

I'm in a similar boat to you..toning down on the partying. When I've been out lately, I tend to think of the drinking now as "one less here is another overseas"..helps save money!

To both of you, i hope you both had a good weekend, mine consisted of a couple of drinks friday with a best mate, then spending time with my girlfriend most of this weekend. A fairly wet weekend at that, storms and rain around..

Talk to you both soon,

Mouley
