i, like you, am starting to worry about what to pack cause of the cold weather! everyones tips seem to revolve around summer travel!

well here's what I've heard in regards to packing (from asking annoying questions and reading other thread on the euro advice) in regards to the winter essentials everyone says layers and layers and more layers, and I found that to be tru travelling thrut he USA a few winters back. EVERYWHERE you go indoors is heated so make sure u wear things that come off/go on easy

other than that, definatly bring a warm jacket, some ppl say 2 (one for day one for night) im not that picky im only bringing one - ur gonna c me in it everyday, im not that interested in making fashion statememts. definalt bring a couple pair of trousers jeans/rtackies/cargos etc warm wooly socks, waterproof shoes/boots and some scarves and beanies. other suggestions ive heard include soem thermals, black and white that can layer under things and thermal long-johns if u can stand them, personally they drive me nuts, so they are one thing i wont be packing
i think that should pretty much do it
and gloves - make sure you dont forget those!

and that should do it i think

hooray to the 3 of us on tour so far!!!

Hi,
It's been a while since i managed to check in, and i was getting slighlty worried that no one else seemed to be on the tour leaving 1/1/07. Luckily, it's looking much better now. Smiler

Is anyone else travelling on their own?

Anyways, I can't believe that it's now less than 4 months to go. It should be memorable at least. Smiler

Hey everyone - thank goodness I'm not the only travelling alone!!! I'm a 21 year old chick from Launceston TAS and i'm moving to London on the 27th December and decided I wanted to see a bit of Europe before I got too settled!!

I'm starting to get really nervous about the whole thing really - especially because I wont know anyone on the trip! I'm up for having a really good time and cant wait to meet everyone. Will anyone be in London from the 28th of Dec onwards?? As I will not know anyone when I arrive! I'm staying at the Royal National for the few nights leading up to the tour starting.

Hope to hear from you soon! Big Grin

guys
I arrive in London on the 28th as well, staying at the Royal National as well. I'm sure we'l manage to find eash other in the hotel bar at some point - if not new years eve. Such an early start on new years day I cant see myself venturing too far from the hotel, especially when there's alcohol and a foreign city involved Smiler

Hey guys

Well it sounds as if we'll be able to all hook up before the contiki tour starts! I'm sure i'll be exhausted after the flight over that i'll just want to sleep for a day straight - but after that i'll be ready to get started! Not sure if i'll have a big one New Years eve either because travelling with a bus load of people after a big night out will probably not go down too well!

Hey Croucher - are you male or female??

Only 14 weeks tomorrow until I leave Aus - but whos counting!!!
