Hi Nicole,

My names Aaron and I am going on the same tour. I'm looking forward to getting out and experiencing new countries and people. The only problem is June can't come quick enough for me.

Have you been on a contiki tour before?

What countries are you looking forward to the most?

Aaron

Hi Aaron....

I'm so excited someone actually wrote back. ha ha : )

I know, it's still so far away but I hope the time will go quickly...

No I have never been on Contiki but some of my friends have and they loved it so i'm giving it a go! Have you been on one?

Where are you from? I'm in Sydney...

Nic : )

Hi Nicolle,

No probs. I saw your message and I thought it would be good to talk to someone on the same tour before going on the adventure.

Heres hoping. I have heard of all these stories from work mates who have done a similar tour and they say I will never want to leave. Well I don't know about that but I think it will be a great experience.

No I haven't been on contiki before. To tell you the truth I haven't been out of Australia either. So all fun new things to experience.

Yeah I'm in Sydney as well.

I think I am looking forward to some of the extra activities like white water rafting and paragliding. I am also looking forward to Italy and Germany.

Are you just going away for the contiki tour or do you plan to go elsewhere before or after the tour?

R u staying at the Royal National before the tour starts?

Keep in touch,
Aaron.

Hi Aaron : )

Yeah my best friend did this one last year and he absolutely loved it...

I have been to America and Bali but this is my first trip by myself so it's a bit scarey!!!

I'm not sure what extra activities i'm gonna do yet... See how much money I can save up before I decide!

I'm flying into London on the 31st of May and staying at the Imperial until the tour starts. When the tour finishes i'm staying at the Imperial for 4 nights and coming back to Australia on the 26th June.

Are you staying there for longer? Are you going alone?

Nic : )

Hi Nic,

Who did you go with when you went overseas to America and Bali?

Well I think doing a contiki trip when you are by yourself is probably your best bet as you are not really alone but with a whole bunch of fellow travellers who you can enjoy the experience with.

Yeah I suppose you are right with the extra activities. I suppose it will depend if our dollar is worth anything, otherwise while we are over there we might have to put a down payment on a mc happy meal. Smiler lol

I actually arrive on the 30th May in the early hours of the morning. That should be enjoyable, NOT. Smiler

I'm staying at the Royal National until the tour starts. Where is the Imperial located at? When the tour ends I will be spending one more night at the Royal and then heading in the morning to Finland for 2 weeks to catch up with a friend who is living there.

Now hopefully somewhere in that 2 weeks I can go and watch a World Cup match in Germany but I will have to be lucky enough to get a ticket.

Yes, unfortunately I will be going alone. But as I said before I don't think a contiki experience makes u feel alone but more a part of a fun group of people.

What do you have planned on your days in London? Any must see tourist attractions on your list?

Take care,
Aaron.

Everyday is a day closer to the trip.

Hi Again!!!

Looks like there is just us two so far!!! Plenty of room on the bus. ha ha.

Um... Went to America with my Mum when I was 15 and I wen't to Bali when I was 18 with my ex b/f.

Yeah I'm glad I'm going solo coz it will give me more of a chance to meet new people. If I was to go with a friend I would probably just stick with them the whole time and it wouldn't be as much fun...

Yeah, we'll get a happy meal, depends on what the toy is though! ha ha.

The Imperial is apparently just around the corner from the Royal, was going to stay at the Royal but then decided I wanted a single room so it had to be the Imperial.

Apparently our tour will be in Germany the day Australia play Brazil, I think thats the first game?

My Best Friend is moving to London on Sunday for 2 years so I'll catch up with him a couple of times but I don't really have anything else planned yet... Just take it as it comes probably.

136 DAYS TO GO!!!!! ha ha ha (I think, rough guess)

What will you and your friend be doing in Finland?

How old are you? I'm 22 now but will turn 23 just before I go.

Talk soon : )

Nic

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. I had the day off yesterday from work. Smiler

Yeah, it looks like we have been upgraded to the Regal Contiki tour with just the 2 of us. Well i suppose we can have plenty of leg room on the coach. Smiler lol

But I don't think we need to be too alarmed the tour that we are on is a guranteed departure trip so we will be going and I also think we booked our trips a little earlier than most people would based on the reaction from my travel agent. So hopefully more people will turn up later on the messageboard.

Cool. Well your a seasoned traveller then. Well based on my non existent record. Any tips for a first time traveller?

Yeah I thought the same way. Its good to get out of your comfort zone once in a while. And besides I couldn't think of anyone I knew who wanted to come with me except maybe my girlfriend but she has already seen Europe and done a similar contiki tour before.

Well for the exchange rate the toy better be a Rolex. Smiler lol

Oh ok, well I decided that I wanted to get use to staying in twin share accomodation before I went on contiki so thats why I chose the Royal. Hopefully I get placed with another person on our tour, that way I will know 2 people on the tour before it even begins.

Its actually the second game in Munich in which we play Brazil. That will be cool if thats the case. I will be wearing the green and gold proudly during that day. The same shirt I wore when I seen them qualify for the world cup. It was a great game to watch. Hopefully I can buy some World Cup stuff while I'm there.

Well thats good to have a friend in London. I have a few things I definately need to see in London but with 3 days up my sleeve I will have some time free as well to do whatever.

Well I think we are planning to do some hiking, swimming, camping and stuff. Maybe if I can get the courage I might try skydiving but I will see what I feel like then. I actually get into Finland on the Mid Summer holiday where everyone goes to the forest or lake huts out of the city and drink and build bonfires. Sounds interesting and I suppose as the saying goes "When in Helsinki" Smiler lol

I'm 25 eventhough my jokes make me sound like a 12 year old. But I suppose thats where my humour is.

Sorry about the length of this message, I will stop now.
Aaron.

Hello : )

I wish I wasn't at work, got a major hangover! ha ha ha...

When did you book your tour? I booked mine back in November...

Tips? Not really! Both times I have been overseas I have gotten sick so i'm probably not the best person to ask. My friend told me to take antibiotic's with me just in case...

A Rolex? ha ha, I got a few of those in Bali, they swore they were genuine! Don't look it though... I think the Care Bears toys are heaps better! lol! You know they are the real thing!

I don't really know what I want to see in London, I wouldn't mind seeing stone henge but a couple of people have told me they were dissapointed with it so i'm not sure... Not really interested in seeing the Queen or any of that stuff, how boring!! I'll probably just end up drinking all night with my friend and sleeping all day!!! Just like weekends here at home! ha ha ha...

Where in Sydney are you from? I live in Ermington at the moment but I'm moving home with my parents at the end of January to save money... That will be tons of fun NOT!! ha ha...

Betta get back to work... Just gotta remember I get a month off soon!!

Nic : )

Hi

Had a big one hey? Are you in training for the trip? Thats not a bad idea actually. Build your liver performance up before the trip. I think I will have to start.

I booked it in December before ******mas. I should of booked it earlier to get the full discount but I wanted to work out times and days and see if it was alright with my friend in Finland before I booked the whole trip.

Well I suppose thats a tip. Bring plenty of spew bags. Smiler lol
Were they alcohol induced or were you just sick?

Well I think I preferred the mini pinball games that came with the Happy Meal. Smiler

Well in London before the trip I want to visit Highbury and possibly catch up with a friend there as well as doing one of those bus tours of London and possibly going on the London Eye. As well as maybe some shopping. Other than that I plan to drink, eat and walk around like a lost tourist. Smiler

Well I'm currently living in Maroubra. Well I know what you mean but you will definately save a whole lot of money. Unfortunately my parents live in Newcastle so it would be a long trip to work so I think I will stay where I am. Smiler

Have you got the Contiki pack yet? Do you know when you get it?
Who are you flying with?

I suppose I should get back to work as well. Damn the tour is not close enough. Smiler

Aaron.

Hello : )

Yeah in training, I'm not doing well though... Hangovers are killer! I normally don't drink that much but the new years party hasn't stopped yet! Have my Best Friends farewell tonight too... It never ends! ha ha!

Nuh, not alcohol induced when I was overseas, just a flu from America and Bali Belly from Bali (duh!) ha ha.

The pinbal games? What about the Transformers? ha ha, as long as they have girls toys and boys toys... Even if Maccas is all we can afford at least we will be able to say we had Maccas in 10 countries! That's an achievement isn't it?

I agree with you on the shopping thing!!! I love shopping... This trip is going to send me bankrupt!! You are right about getting lost too, I bet I'm going to do that a bit... My friend told me that when you go out drinking you should take a business card of the place you are staying incase you forget. That way the cab will be able to get you back!! Pretty good tip I think!

You're a Bra boy hey? ha ha... I'm going to be living in Kellyville soon, damn I really don't want to move home but at least my parents will look after my dog... I'm gonna hate leaving him for a month : (

Nuh, don't have the pack yet, apparently they only send it one or two months before you go... Bummer though, I want it to come now so I have something to show for my money! ha ha.

I'm going with Qantas... Not looking forward to the flight, 23 hours... What am I going to do? Probably will go insane. I'll be so bored!! Who are you flying with?

Back to work I guess.... Grrrrr..... Almost the weekend....

Everyday it's getting closer : )

Nic

Hi,

Well I haven't been in training so I might be a bit rusty when I start the contiki tour. Smiler lol

Yeah I plan to take some sick pills as well as some cold and flu tablets just in case. They should go down well with an ale or 2.

Well the transformers were good but they were never like the real thing. Well I dont think I want maccas all the time but it will be good to see what differences they have on the menu. I wonder if they have such short lived experiences as when Maccas sold prawn cutlets. I think it lasted for all of 2 weeks. I dont think people believed Maccas actually had real seafood. Smiler lol

Well I plan to do a bit of soccer memorabilia shopping as well as some tourist shopping for my family and friends. I'm hoping to leave enough room for stuff I want to bring back with me. Well I think while I'm in London I might just bring a map along with me and just walk the streets and see where it leads me. That way I get a bit of a vibe of a place instead of just catching the underground. The card idea is a good one, I must remember that.

Yes, but not a part of the group. I have never been surfing before on a board, I just body surf mainly. It would be could to try it out one day. What type of dog do u have? Trust me being at home will be good when u go on the trip because you won't be paying rent while you are away.

Yeah I would have thought they would send it to you earlier than that. Especially if it is a guaranteed departure and you have paid up in full. Ah well I suppose another to wait for.

I'm flying with British Airways for the 23 hour journey. I think for me it will go slightly quicker since everything will be new for me not having flown overseas before. I also plan to pass the time through working on some film script ideas I have. Although I will have to be careful what I write because I don't want to write the word bomb anywhere on the page. People might get the wrong idea. Smiler lol

Yeah I'm hoping to catch up with some sleep this weekend if that is possible. But probably not.

Have a good weekend. At least it is one week closer.

Aaron.

Are you going by urself or are you bringing some other party people along as well on the tour?

I'm from Maroubra.

I'm counting down the days as well.
