That's what I figured. First time in 18 years I was able to tell my mother what I would like for Christmas...which was everything!! Let alone actually paying for the trip. Well, I really lucked out. Instead of selecting a couple of items from the list they bought me EVERYTHING on the list. Now I only have to worry about saving and packing!

I got a Skyway (i think that is what it is called) I normally buy American tourister but Skyway is just as good and it came in purple. It will stand out when in comes off the belt at heathrow and not blend in with the navy black and grey cases.

nice. is that a hard suitcase or a rolling duffel? im worried not so much about size but about the weight. i heard they are really strict about that in the beginning

They are more strict on the weight but I would exceed their limits in size. The skyway is a rolling suitcase. It is 30% lighter than usual but just as sturdy or even stronger. I don't like hard cases.

light is good. yea we have both hard suitcases and rolling duffels here in my house but they are all heavy. i might make my parents go out and buy something thats lighter this way i wont have to worry too much when packing

Take a measuring tape with you. As for the expandable it is really hard to find one these days that don't expand. Just don't have it expanded the day you depart london. Suitcases these days are quite light. Give Skyway a try...I'll see if i can find a web for you.
