Hi, I am doing the Auusie explorer starting on July 16th and was wondering if anyone else has booked or planning on booking?
I am travelling on my own so would be good to hear from others before I go.

I got excited when I saw your message but I'm sorry you'll probably be disappointed. I was only thinking of dates last night and July 16th was one of my options. However, I think it's best for me to start on the 23rd I'm afraid. I was wondering if you could tell me how you are doing it? Are you travelling from Darwin? And when are you flying out? Have you actually booked it yet?

I wanted to travel on the 23rd as well but it was fully booked so had to go a bit earlier. I am starting in Darwin and heading down to Sydney, I want to spend a bit of time in Sydney at the end so thought that was best.

Yup, my flights are all booked, V excited!! I leave on the 12th july so that gives me 2 days in Darwin to explore before the tour.

Wow....I can't beleive the 23rd is fully booked. I better get my skates on and book something quick! I can't do 16th because I want to spend a week with Ozintro in Sydney first. Looks like I need to rethink things. So where you flying from and what acccommodation have you arranged in Darwin before the tour? How long are you going to be in Australia for?

I was really disapointed it was booked, I had a festival booked but had to cancel. I tried to book the Contiki hotel in Darwin, the Quality Frontier but it was full as well. I have arranged to stay at the Chilli Backpackers hotel instead. fingers crossed it will be OK. I will be in Australia for just over 7 weeks, thinking about spending most of the last 3 weeks in Sydney but might head to Melbourne as well.

Have you booked anything yet? Where are you travelling from, I am from Scotland.

Aaw that's such a shame about the festival. i am going to book Contiki in the next few days to guarantee I am on a tour. I'm also gonna book Ozintro for middle of July. That means I have 3 weeks to visit people I know before my tour starts in Contiki. I wil try to book the Quality Frontier but if not, I may try the Chilli Backpackers. After the tour I am hoping to maybe get a job.....I wasn't thinking of at first, but think why not? You will have to keep in touch amnd let me know what you end up doing and what you thought of the tour. Are you flying directly to Darwin from Scotland? I am from Manchester and will be flying to Syndey, so gotta sort out a flight to Darwin. It's kinda scary but exciting! Sorry for all the questions!

I know what you mean, I am really excited but a little scared to travel so far on my own! sure it will be loads of fun tho. I fly direct to Darwin but stop at Heathrow and Singapore. On the way back I come from Sydney to Glasgow so pretty easy.
Have you managed to get booked yet? I have never heard of Ozintro. I thought about working but decided I would rather lie on the beach! :L

Hi, I have finally managed to sort myself out and have booked this contiki tour. Cant wait for the summer now, am so excited. I will be in sydney before the tour so will have to fly over to darwin. Im gonna be staying with friends when I get to oz, they live about 2hours away from sydney. Im gonna wait until the end of contiki to explore sydney though. Will be flying over to darwin before the tour starts and will need somewhere to stay. Cant believe frontier is already fully booked, I will check out chilli backpackers though.

I haven't really got any plans after the tour, i want to go see the south, definitely have to do the neighbours tour but other than that im just gonna see where the wind takes me, I have got about 3weeks to kill after the tour. Bring on July!

I have booked to do the Aussie Reverse starting from Darwin on the 16th July. Really looking forward to it!!!! I am nervous about the long flight and travelling on my own but really want to do it!!! I arrive in Darwin on 14th and just hope I have got over my jet lag by the time the trip begins!!! I haven't booked my accomodation yet either in Darwin or Sydney.... I only have a few days after the tour ends before my return flight to the U.K. I am looking forward to seeing a small slice of Australia and also meeting new people!!!

Good to find another person on the same tour as me!!! I think i will be arriving in darwin on the 14th too coming in from sydney. I know what you mean about nervous, I am a little too, I think its because we are travelling alone but that should change when we all meet up. On the other hand, im totally excited!!!! My understanding is the trip starts on the 16th July in Darwin & ends on 8th August in Sydney. The Contiki website isn't showing that trip or those dates!!!
I have booked my accomodation in Darwin, but still not sure about Sydney... was looking at Travel Lodge Sydney as it appears to be close to things and the airport. I only have a few days in Sydney before I fly home. I am really excited!!!!
