Hi Jo,

You have NO IDEA how long I have been waiting to hear from someone doing the same tour!!! Yes, I am travelling alone....where are you both from? When are you getting to Darwin and what are you doing after the tour ends in Sydney? Sorry for all the questions!!!! I'm in Sydney from July 20th and I will hopefully be catching a flight to Darwin on the 12th August.

Hey there,

We are both from Canada, we work together in St John's Newfoundland. We aren't spending too much time before and after the tour. Only have so much vacation time. Getting to Sydney on the 11th, flying to Darwin the afternoon of the 12th, and have to leave sydney the day after the tour.
How about yourself? where are you from, all that good stuff...
I was checking into the weather and it looks like we should be lucky, there winter is warmer then the summer here in Newfoundland!
Is this your first "backpacking trip" I backpacked Western Europe for 2 months in 2003 with a friend of mine, and travelled to the Scandnavian countries in 05! I can't wait to get back out ant travel

Canada! WOW!

I am from England and so I am grateful the weather will be nice and not too hot. I couldn't cope in the Australia summer!

I'm really looking forward to the trip. I did a bit of travelling in 2005 as I spent 3 months in America working at a summer camp. It gave me the travel bug, meeting amazing people etc. I was really looked after though and so I'm counting this as my first BIG trip. I want to find work after the tour finishes so I don't know how long I will be out there for. Scary!
So have you already booked your flight to Darwin? I'm thinking of booking it while I am out there. Oh and are you staying in the hotel in Darwin the night before the tour starts? If so, we can meet up then!
You have seen more of Western Europe than I have!!!

hey suzanne,

we are both from Sydney. we are flying up to darwin in the morning on the 12th and staying at the hotel.

id also suggest you book your flight to darwin now as you are more likely to get a cheaper flight now then if you wait till you get out here.

if you wanna chat my email is shooter_mcgav30@hotmail.com

Really? Ok I was just thinking of booking it whilst I'm out there. Who do you think is the best airline? Who are you flying with? A big reason for me not booking it now was in case I am somewhere else other than Sydney on the 12th. But I gues I can alsways get back to Sydney a few days before the flight.

I added you to MSN...hope to chat sometime.

From what i was told by the travel agent, Qantas is the only airline that flies direct to darwin twice a day. Thats who we are going with. we are on the morning flight that gets up there around 3pm as the afternoon flight gets up to darwin around 11pm.

do what you want to do, as you said your not sure where you might be before the 12th but just thought id let you know that you might not be able to get a cheap flight if you leave it till then.
