I just booked my trip a couple of hours ago and am really stoked about it.  i'm doing the northern highlights tour on jul8 in nz beforehand and then i'm off to sydney for a couple of nights before the aussie explorer starts.  anyone here doing both of those trips by any chance?

i'm in sydney for a couple of days before this tour starts.  i booked their prenight deal for both of those nights, so i have a place to stay, but i have nothing to do yet!  anybody here want to meet in sydney and run around town together for a couple of days?  let me know

also, anybody here plan on doing any diving while in cains?  i hear it is great and even though it is winter, i hear norther oz is always hot.

I'm 25 years old and just finished my degree (teaching) at university. I booked this tour, because i want to have some fun and adventure before hard life (work) starts..:-) I'll be starting a teacher training in wales just 3 weeks after the aussie trip.

so I hope we'll all have a great time together!

I know how you feel, can't wait for this trip.  Not doing both tours but off to NZ after this tour so you can fill me in on the best spots. I'll be in Sydney in a hostel before the trip and yeah it'd be great to meet up. What part of Sydney are you staying in? We can meet up somewhere central that suits everyone anyway. Definitely going to try the diving in Cairns, you couldn't pass up an opportunity like that. It looks amazing. I'm 26 and from Dublin in Ireland.  Doing the trip solo too.  I work full-time and am studying part-time too. Took 3 months off work and I just know I won't want to go back.  Looking forward to meeting you all

Hmmm. well it looks like I posted a lot by accident, back there, oh well, I totally cannot wait to get away, we should totally meet up for a pint or two before. Like the rest of you I'm flying solo for this one, and yes, diving is a must in Cairns.  Is anyone else doing any travel after the trip? All I know right now is that I'm not going home until ******mas so find a travel buddy would be cool!  39 days and counting, oh man, seems so far away!

Hey guys! Wow, I can't believe our trip is only 39 days away - how exciting! I would love to meet up for a pre-tour pint! Hi there  guys and dolls,my name is Dave,im 22 and from Liverpool England. I will be joining up with you for the last leg of the tour, from Alice springs to Darwin, I cant wait, I  really wanted to do the tour  that you are all doing but im afraid im in america  wen the tour starts.

So I will now be doing a smaller tour from sydney to cainers then meeting everyone at Alice springs from there.

P.S. What are you taking a ruck sack or  a  suitcase?im not sure, any help would  be great

Well my ticket's booked now, and it's just the waiting game.  I'll landin in Sydney on the 10th, so if any of you are going to be around lemme know and we can hook up.

Dave - Suitcase vs Backback? IT depends really, for me, I'm travelling after the trip, so I'm doing the backpack game, but if you're just there for the tour, I think it might be a better idea to do the suitcase, but that's just me thinkin.
