Hi Alana...my name is Chris from Wales (UK). I have booked to go on the Australian Explorer tour in October 2008 (from memory it starts 8th Oct)starting in Darwin. It will be my first Contiki tour.
Hi Chris, I havent booked the tour yet but that is one of the dates I was planning on doing. Starting in Darwin also!!! I will let you know when I book it if I am on the same tour as you. Hopefully by the Middle of Jan I will be all booked!! I cant wait to go!! Hope to meet you in Australia.
Great! I plan to arrive in Darwin during the afternoon of Monday 6 October (as will be catching connecting flight from Sydney to Darwin that morning). I will be spending an additional week in Sydney after the tour, before flying back to UK.

Hi Kim, I booked flights through STA travel. Flight is with British Airways from London Heathrow to Sydney and then Qantas from Sydney to Darwin. Total cost of return flights including airport taxes was £950.

Hi, I wanted to do this trip too. (starting in sydney, ending in Darwin), but when I look on the website now it doesn't appear anymore. For those of you who have already booked, have you been notified that it's been cancelled?
Hey, as far as I know this tour isnt cancelled!! I booked it 3 weeks ago and it wasnt on the website then! I dont know what happened to it!! But in was still in the book and when I booked it it was still available!! I would maybe try calling contiki and see if it is still a go!! ( I sure hope it is ). Hope to see you there Alana
Hi there.... I spoke to travel agent today and they advised that the tour is still going ahead and that there were just some gliches with the Contiki website at the moment.
I guess in retrospect I didn't actually leave any valuable information in that last one to say I was coming on that tour. lol I'm from Canada too (Alana) and while I haven't booked when exactly I'm going to be arriving in Darwin it seems like the consensus is the 6th so I'll shoot for that. I'm going to be in Australia from June 6th until May or June of next year, but I'm really looking forward to this tour and seeing a lot of the country!
