Keri, soz for taking so long to get back to you but boss being nasty and blocked all websites at work! I,m coming from Ireland so won't see you on flight ;0( but will be in Darwin very early on 24th, if u wanna meet up n we can do a tour o the place, just let me know cos we,ll be in the same hotel (all booked now)!!!! Are u gonna stay in the hotel in Sydney 2 once we finish up???? Hae a wee party to finish off oor hols ;0)

Hey everyone...I just found this trip forum thing while browsing the Contiki website...I am also headed for this trip in Feb!!! I'm from Ottawa, Canada. I am actually doing a Contiki trip in New Zealand prior to this one and another one to Fiji right after...anyone else doing the same? I will be arriving a day ahead in Darwin too...glad to hear I'm not the only one!!! I have never done a Contiki tour before so am a bit nervous, but very excited! Anyway, glad to know we're all in this together!!! Can't wait to meet you all!

yeah i booked my flights ok in the end, i went direct with qantas.
I'm also arriving in Darwin VERY early on 24th 4am, i havent sorted out where im staying yet that night before and not sure if everywhere will charge for 2 nights as the normal check in time is usually 2pm...
I'll be staying on, i got a working holiday visa so am planning on touring the south and west for the following 2 months after the tour, then heading back over to brisbane where i'll either get a job or fly home. exciting times...
not long now, and ive still got so much to organise :-(

That sounds great Coral, good on you! I,m not sure what my plans are gonna be yet! I,m handing in my notice at work today so will be in no hurry to rush back! I also arrive really early on the 24th, 4.40am so if you wanna hang around n wait 4 me then we can get a taxi into Darwin together?

I have just booked myself into the hotel we leave from on the 25th as it starts so early!!! you can organise that throo Contiki too!!

Hi Dana n Karla, maybe its an idea for you girlies too, we can all meet up and have pre-tour drinks, start as we mean to go LOL!!!!

Its gettin closer and I can just feel that sun beating down on us mmm lovely beats this rain thats for sure!!!!

Sorry for taking so long to reply, How did you giving your resignation go down with your work? were they ok?

So your staying in the quality frontier hotel in darwin, did you book the quad share room? cos of arriving so early was thinking of going to one of the hostels and getting a private room as prob gonna be knackered after flying so long... but did you have to pay for one night or 2? let me know as i'll be booking up within the next week (hopefully)

Went ok wi the boss, He wiz really really shocked and then I felt bad afterwards but now all I,m thinkin about is the trip......Not long at all now

Aye I,m gonna stay in the Frontier Hotel in Darwin, I only booked for 1 nite as I thout I would get plenty sleep on the plane and by the time I collect my bags, get into Darwin, go somewhere for brekkie, it will be almost checkin in time and after gettin checked in I,m gonna try and find somewhere nice to relax in the sunshine. Thats my plan anyway.

right i have just tried to book into the quality frontier and there are no more twin or quad rooms available so have booked into the chilli backpackers hostel... hopefully its ok... only 2 weeks to go and we're be on our way, i'm really looking forward to it now.

ive set up a group on facebook if you type in Aussie Explorer(Reverse) 25th Feb 09 Darwin to Sydney on the search bar you should be able to become a member so everyone can chat and get to know each other on there aswell before we all head off to Darwin! Jay
