Hi,

I've booked to do this tour on 21st February 2010, and I just wanted some advice from people who have done this tour before...

1). I'm planning to bring a suitcase with me (I'm a girl who can't travel light!)Should I bring a small weekend bag for the sailing part of the trip - or will I be able to bring my suitcase with me?

2). I've done a contiki tour before (Canada & the Rockies) and we didn't have really early starts - are there early starts on this tour?

3). I'm just trying to budget how much I'll spend on the tour (excluding the optional extras) - are drinks/ food expensive? Shall I budget $100 a day - or is that too much/too little?

4). How dressy do people get in the evenings? I'm from London - where the dress code is mixed. Can I get away with flip flops and casual dresses/ skirts?

If anyone can help that would be great. Cool

xx

I am an Australian and havent been on contiki yet. but i can tell you that $100 a day will be ok for some days, but others especially if you go out clubbing etc you will need more. alcoholic drinks are expenisve due to a government tax to try and stop binge drinking. and buying a drink such as vodka and orange juice out usually costs me like 6 or 7 dollars for one drink. some clubs also cost lke $20 just to get into it. also shopping can be expensive, depends on your taste and some foods or restaurants are dear. also u may choose some options which arent on the tour or tour optionals and these will also cost money. hopefully someone who has been will reply to you and give you a more exact amount.
also the dress code is also mixed. some places will not let u wear thongs, boardies, beach t shirts and bathers in tho, so make sure u have some sandals or similar to wear out to tea or clubbing and a nice set of clothes, even a dress, but no need for anything too formal
