Hi

I'm travelling on my own on the 24 days Aussie Explorer with Whitsundies Sailing (Sydney to Darwin)leaving Sydney on 13th July 08.Is anyone else doing this tour?

Any ideas on what's better to travel with, a suitcase, holdall or rucksack? Also, how much money per day do I need to budget? I've been advised to use a cashpoint rather than travellers checks, has anyone got any views on which is better?

thanks,
Rach x

To find out who's on your tour go to the Meeting Place which is in the main forum about half way down. There is one for Australia. This is for advice only. Cool

As far as bags go think very small and pack very light. I'd avoid the travelers checks just keep one as a back up of sorts. Use your bank card or atms.

Make sure you have a small backpack for the Whitsundays option, other than that, any luggage will be suitable.

Pack light. Do a search here for some older threads as to what to pack. As for budget, it will depend a good bit on which optional you want to do. Food on the tour is not too expensive [especially when converting from pounds].

Hi Jan

I'm leaving Sydney 13th July and reach Darwin 6th August. I've found a few other people doing this tour too.

In the trip forums there's one called 'Meeting PLace - Australia' and you'll be able to meet people doing the same tour as you.

Hope to see you on this one!
