This post and question is for anyone who has done a Contiki tours in Australia.
I would like to know how good the tours have been. Do you get alot of time on your own at all in each spot? What are the travel days like, timelines between each city etc. What is the main age group that does a contiki australia? Are most of these turn into more of party trips? Would like to know who wants to do a trip in Australia? I like a lowdown of someone else's experience in Australia? Thank you |

I thought there was a lot of good downtime spent in each spot, enough to see/do everything I wanted. What are the travel days like, timelines between each city etc. Travel days take most of the day, you won't arrive at your destination until just about sundown, which kinda sucks, but the tour guide does his best to minimize waiting for ferries and such, so chances are they arrive faster than if you were to do it on your own. What is the main age group that does a contiki australia? Most of the people on my tour seemed to be in their 20s. Are most of these turn into more of party trips? You'll get all types, from people who stay out all night partying, to those who don't drink and call it early nights. Either way you'll find someone with similar interests as you. Would like to know who wants to do a trip in Australia? It appeared that most people on the tour had friends/family in Australia and was using the tour to see a bit more before visiting them. |

I haven't done a Contiki Australia Tour but will be considering doing one for Christmas Next Year So Any Positive Feedback will be accepted.
What actually got me contemplating doing Contiki Tours is the value for money aspect and how they don't discriminate against Single Travellers Also the groups are more my style. I tell you after what I had to go through with the old people aboard the Pacific Sun Chrisrmas Cruise 2008 I don't want to even consider another cruise again for at least another DECADE OR THEREABOUTS.I am over 30 but under 35 currently. |

For the places you actually stop, yeah you do for the most part. There are some places like Byron Bay where I would have loved to stay a night there, and an extra day in the Gold Coast I would have loved. What are the travel days like, timelines between each city etc. If you are going on the east coast the trip from the Whitsundays to Cairns is the longest which takes about 8 hours but the tour managers do their best to pass the time. Also you will stop for a few hours in different places along the way. Example you will start a day in Coffs Harbour and will travel to the Gold Coast stopping in Byron Bay and you visit the Currumbin wildlife sanctuary. If there is any complaint I have is that the tour is very fast paced but you get everything taken care of and you spend a lot of time with great people. What is the main age group that does a contiki Australia? 20's on the tour I did. Are most of these turn into more of party trips? There is plenty of it but no one will force you to drink if you don't want to. I like a lowdown of someone else's experience in Australia? It's a lot of fun and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I would recommend doing the things you haven't tried before, I got a kick out of surfing even though I was not to good at it, and I enjoyed Scuba diving and Bungee jumping as well. Also in Sydney I got a kick out of the Bridge climb Reefs and Rainforests Feb 15-Mar 2, 2009 |
