Just wondering how easy it is to cash travellers cheques at hotels, and if I should even consider bringing some. I don't want to bring $800-$1000 cash with me and worry about it the whole trip. I will have my credit card with me though.
use your debit card/CC ... traveller's cheques are passe, maybe keep $100 TC in your wallet as a last resort. Having it in as TC form will make it a pain for you to use it so it'll be there as emergency backup for the entire trip.

This is another money question. Very broad though, after the tour im doing i am staying an extra month or so. Im 18 so i will be out enjoying the night life and doing lots of activities. Im very torn about how much money on average i should bring along excluding the tour.
Hi Jenna Where abouts are you staying back and what is the exchange rate where your coming from?. It will depend what sort of holiday you want, I live near sydney so feel free to contact me if you need to know anything Andrew
Hi Australia can be very expensive, where are you planning on staying sydney, brisbane...? You can get preety cheap flights between Australian capital cities on flights such as www.tigerair.com.au or www.jetstar.com.au and sometime on www.viginblue.com.au these ar our discount airlines. If you stay at backpackers then accomodation can start from around 20AUD per night but single in a hotel can be very pricey especially in prime locations. Recommend you go to melbourne... st kilda is nice and definatly have to spend time in sydney, sydney has fantastic bars and clubs and the night life is great darling harbour is nice and the rocks and oxford st are good for nights out! Sydney also has famous beaches like Bondi and also manly beacy, you can get to maly via ferry from circular quay or bondi by train. Travel is fairly cheap via train and ferry but taxis are quiet expensive 5minute trip in sydney will cost about 8AUD and all taxis are meter taxis if its not then find one that is! If your staying on the gold coast where all the theme parks are then Cavaler avenue is a must!!! If you have any questions feel free to email me lizzie_025@hotmail.com By the way im from Sydney
